Exhaust Note

Greetings,

Perhaps this is a dumb question, but I am not sure why my car's Exhaust sounds lesser deeper as I drive more and more miles non-stop, Is that because of the Engine or perhaps the Mufflers?
Curios to know if this is only me and my Car or its something that's common....

Thanks....

I see you have a Borla. I am not sure what is inside of them, but if they have fiberglass then sometimes the tone will change as they "bake" in. Also, I think that you just get more used to it. The stock stuff has nothing but air and pipes in the mufflers, so they stay pretty consistent. The only difference you might here is between hot and cold start.

I noticed my Borla S-Type seems to have gotten slightly quieter. However, my logic says its more likely I've just gotten used to it rather than it actually getting quieter.

Yes I know from motorcycles & superbikes aftermarket exhaust that are fiberglass "bake" settle in & break in and the exhaust note will change over the 1st 1,000 or few k miles as it heats up / heart cycles

I Don't clearly remember but I think I had this issue with the Stock Muffler as well, Definitely after revving 2-3 times while the car was in stand still, the tone used to get less and less deeper....

Thanks...

Im not sure if your talking about it quieting down over the life span mileage since install or quieting down over the course of an individual driving cycle. If its the latter then I can say the NPP valves even in Track mode will modulate and change depending on speed. Its definatley quieter at 60mph cruising then it is even gently accelerating from a traffic light.

It should get louder the more they bake in. MINE definitely did in regards to the secondary cat delete straight pipes even my wife noticed after they were on a couple months.
