Took mine in this morning, needs to be fixed, dealer is ordering parts which should take 2 or 3 days. I asked them and they said that GM is telling them that if the bolt is rubbing/touching the line then they are supposed to change them. I tried asking the advisor if the ljne was actually damaged but he didn't know. I am just getting it replaced, don't want to chance it.

My question is this as mine going in tomorrow for replacement as my bolt was touching the line. So question is this if they are replacing it because it touched or rubbed the line why then are they replacing with a different design part that had to be produced after 6/10/16 instead of the original part they are leaving in the ones where they are just touching the bolt.

ugghhh that means mine is probably the same since we were built hours apart hahah. My seat cover just came in today, I will call them and see if they have the parts. I don't want to take multiple trips out there.

I called my dealership yesterday about the Recall, and left a message with my Service Advisor. Dealership called back about a hour later wanting me to schedule a appointment. They stated that my Camaro was affected and that they had ordered the parts needed for the Recall. I asked them why they ordered the parts first without looking at my car, and they said that by doing it this way, if the parts were needed, they would already have them on hand and there would be no delay in getting my Camaro fixed.

Not sure...but was told the new line has some sort of bracket, I am guessing with a bend or different design to go around and stay away from that bolt. I honestly would rather just get it replaced and mot have to worry abou it.

Yeah most likely. I was told about 4 hours to fix, the advisor told me he has had a few come in already and they each about 4 hours to do.

After having my car for 3 full days they then decide to let me know that they have to order parts, and that they are 4-5 days out. So I went and got my car back and said I would have to do the service at a later time...didn't feel like driving the Malibu loaner any longer lol.

They shouldn't keep your car for so many days. To inspect the issue and decide if a replacement of parts is needed takes only 1-2 hours. My dealer said I can drive the car without any worry and come back in 5 days once the parts are in there and after 5 days got it replaced in a days time.

3 days? That is crazy. I brought mine in yesterday, was there an hour for them to check and tell me they need to order parts to replace, and that included a state inspection also. Was told 2 or 3 days for parts to arrive.

As I thought. Line needs to be replaced due to manufacture date. Body stud was cut off but build date on line is 10/23/2015. Any line dated on or before 6/10/2016 is to be replaced. Parts ordered.

Had mine in and bolt not touching so they left line in and cut bolt, mine had date before 6/10/16 as car built 5/16. Heard obly if line replaced date applies
