Not sure if this belongs here but I have a question

I've been asked by a family member to help them with their new car purchase as they are totally car illiterate as we all once were at some point in our lives.

I gladly obliged and wanted to dig a bit deeper into each brand, manufacturer history, recalls, reliability, etc. of a car without using main stream media as a basis for my influence / decision and realized we seem to be missing a general over view of our beloved.

How would everyone else feel about a sticky detailing all that the Camaro has to offer? It's flaws, greatness, pain points... the whole 9 yards. A totally non biased, actual Camaro owner's experience instead of a paid intern or journalist at a magazine / media platform who drove it for a review.

I understand we're not the manufacturers, mechanics or the dealers who handle these cars daily but I'm sure a concise review from this forum's collective experience and history with this animal trumps any journalist's article. Who knows, we might be able to drum up the passion we all felt the first time we saw / drove / owned a Camaro in not so sure buyers?

Thoughts?

Honestly take one for a test drive, that's what got me hooked. And I owned a Chrysler Sebring covertible before my beast! A wimpy V6 at that!

Test drive doesnt tell you how reliable a car is. A POS Ford Fiesta will not show any defects in a test drive but is one of the worst cars of 2016.

One important point is to find out what you want out of the car. You want to commute? look elsewhere. You want a good looking cheap sport car? Camaro works. You want both? I would not recommend it.

As is mine. But you know what they say about opinions

And the new generation hasn't even been out Long enough to determine reliability anyway. My girlfriend's 2012 has been super reliable and it's at over 100k miles. So I am hoping the new ones will be just as reliable if not better.

Camaros have the nice ability to be as loaded and pricey as a Corvette, or as affordable and cheap as any other big sports car out there. All about what you want.

How far do you commute?

Camaro doesnt get "good fuel mileage" that's not one of it's strong points

Do they live in Canada as well? This will be their only car?

If yes to both questions, I would consider something a lot better in snow and freezing road conditions. RWD with a lot of torque is not my first choice if it will be my DD up North. Thank goodness I'm in sunny FL, lol.
