It seems like anyone who has a car produced before mid-June or anytime last year is going to go through more recall visits then anything i seen in past cars i ever owned. I am guessing that since mine was produced in late 2015 there going to need that 4 hour deal for the oil cooler line. My car was in the dealer for 5 days for the dam diff noise last week that they so called fixed and came right back next day cold start, seat recline motor and 2 other recalls since i got it. Just starting to get to me as they never offered even to loan or help get me a rental car and i lost plenty $$ from not working those days and putting people out of their way to follow and pick me up from the freakin dealer.
Yea i contacted GM on the forums for a so called added layer of assistance, they were very nice but that really didn't change much of anything and my illuminated Camaro door sill was dinged last appointment, didn't catch it for a few days but who am i to blame LOL...

Well... mine was built on January 5, 2016 so we'll see how it goes (hoping for the best), I'll post an update on the findings after she gets done from the shop early next week.

It sounds and looks worse than it is. I was able to check progress on mine being a dealership employee. So much on today's cars are snap-together that once the nose was off and what seemed like hundreds of bolts on the belly-pan it wasn't that bad. Tech told me the worst part of the job was snaking the lines in and out. 6.3 hours on mine and all is well, even got a programming update to address the speaker noise issue while it hung in the air. Racked correctly of course...

I'm going to inspect it myself and if it's not that close then I won't worry about it. Really want to try and avoid the dealer at all costs.

My question is this, when they inspect it and if the bolt did not leave a mark on the line they just cut off the bolt and leave the original line but then why if they have to replace the line are they using a new redesigned part as well as cutting off the offending bolt, something does not add up.

Two part recall, the bolt gets trimmed regardless. The other issue is clearance at the catalytic converter support bracket and the revised routing of the new lines correct this.

Since it was the same part on all 16 & 17 SS Camaros with autos mfg before 6/10/16 then why are ones where bolt touched line being replaced with a new different part even though bolt being cut off instead of the part used on the ones not being replaced

Need to take mine in. It was built in Jan of this year. So far it has the rear noise from the diff. and this recall. I also noticed the right speaker sounds like it busted. Might need replacement as well.

Dropped mine off Thursday, as I would be out of town over the weekend. Called this morning to check on it and they said it wasn't quite done but to come in by 6pm to pick it up. Get there at 5:45pm and it's not done. Apparently all day Fri, Sat, and today was not enough time to perform this recall.
I think I'll be taking my future service issues elsewhere. |

Just an update, mine took about an hour, after the inspection they found no issues but cut off the stud anyways and I was on my way. Mine was born on Jan 5, 2016.
