Rear Seating Area Lighting in '16 2SS

Have I missed something? Are there NO sources of illumination whatsoever in he rear of the passenger compartment of a 2016 Camaro 2SS? Can this truly be? Thank you.

You missed nothing... There's no lights behind the front seats.

For what it's worth, The Mustang is the same way... The Camaro has a lot of little annoyances. Like the location for the charging pad, There's no hooks or belt on the seat to hold the seat belt closer to your reach and that the light strips don't include floor lights (I know it's an added option, but it's so dim it's not even worth the $300)

Well, more like a cushioned shelf that looks like a seat to fool insurance companies.

I have "footwell" lighting for the rear seats in my car. The light makes about a 1.5" bar of light as measured on the roof of my car. That should give you a general idea of how much room there is between the backs of the front seats and the rear "seat".

you can only see them in the daytime, detonator_x, but they are there, such as they are.

For those of you technically inclined I'm sure you can install a rear seat light into the headliner that would look and work like it came from the factory. For pretty cheap too.

Cut a hole to fit the light assembly into the headliner, tap into the front lights, feed the wires to the hole you made, make the proper connections, and attach back into the headliner.

I'm thinking of doing this myself.

Sounds like it wouldnt be too hard to do, assuming there was clearance up there. Might have to remove some insulation or whatever.
