My Christmas gift - ceramic treatment

I'm way to unmotivated to do exterior car care the way I used to, so the car is going to Glasslife Atlanta next week for full paint correction and ceramics on complete exterior. They are having special so I figured why not

Did mine three weeks ago - Ceramic Pro. Good decision. Like you, I'm past the hours long detail process days. This stuff makes the car look great and the water sheets. If I get the mood one nice day I can still apply a nice soft wax for that extra glossy look.. but I don't have to.

Had mine done a week ago by my buddy who owns FuriousShine. He did the Adams ceramic coating on mine and I believe mine was the third car he had done. The results were spectacular!

If you have scratches or swirls you need to do a paint correction and polishing. Wash, clay bar and then paint correction. Once satisfied with the surface being flawless you then do the ceramic prep, then apply the coating in 2'x2' foot sections at a time working one direction and then cross hatching it. When you get the rainbow affect or look you wipe it and proceed to next section. When done with entire car you allow it to cure 24hrs and then apply the ceramic boost. This is the Adams kit way and I can only assume most are similar.
Pricing? Priceless with these results! LOL
No in all seriousness there is a shop in Carmel, IN that starts at $1500 for the Opti-Coat. I was nowhere close to that but I'll say having a relatively dust free environment as well as temperature controlled space is an advantage.

I tell people all the time that cheap $hyt ain't good, and good $hyt ain't cheap!

Yeah usually $1500 and up for exterior only. But they spend lots of time doing correction removing imperfections such as orange peel, scratched, swirls, etc. And the surface is basically main free after for us lazy folks.

chozn is exactly right, I got to see his car as I was dropping my wife's DD to get the Adams Ceramic coating done. His car looked spectacular. And I have to say Steve did an awesome job on my wife's new Chevy Cruze Hatchback. The coating is worth it to me. This car does not stay in the garage, is driven a lot on the highway, in all the elements.

Picked the car up on a Sat. from Steve. Sunday rained all day, Monday drove three hours out of town to visit family (still lite rain). Returned on Thursday in a snow/sleet mix. Friday saw the car and had ZERO dirt on the car. You could not tell this car had driven 700 mile round trip, in bad weather. I can't say enough of how impressed I am about this coating. Getting it done for a DD, for over the winter months, was worth it. It's like the dirt washed it self off in the rain, best I can explain it.

How are you guys caring for your coating?

Looking for some tips for caring for the Ceramic. I just got a Ceramic Pro Sport application and I am going to use the Optimum rinseless, but what about a QD? Chemical Guys has a "vitalize" carbox flex sealant spray (http://www.chemicalguys.com/Carbon_F...p/wac20716.htm)

I have a Speed Wipe from them and I also have a meguiars QD spray.

Just worried about bonding issues with the ceramic coating.

Thoughts? Mostly for fingerprint and light dirt removal

It doesn't really matter what you use if you want to do something on top of ceramic, because nothing really sticks. So do it for fun, do it because it adds a little bit up gloss, but don't worry about what you choose. I would just follow it with DURAGLOSS AQUAWAX during the drying stage of a rinseless procedure.

A spray SIO2 will work too, in this product class the leader is Carpro RELOAD.
