Does anyone share the same sentiment?

So I'm still in the market for a 6th Gen and I've been crunching numbers vigorously to figure out what the best way of getting in a Camaro would be without committing financial suicide

Naturally, I've come across some very tempting 5th Gens fully loaded with reasonable KMs but I feel like the best bang for your buck is still with the 6th Gens with their refreshed interiors and great performance. However, finally getting to the point, does anyone else feel like the 5th Gen had this really bulky aggressive stance that the 6th Gen just doesn't replicate?

Its difficult to explain as I'm a very visual buyer but the burly, in your face, feel with the 5th Gen, with its halos that'd make a beamer run the other way, doesn't really show with the 6th Gen. Yeah the 6 is a head turner but the 5th on anyone's tail will get them to move lanes real quick. The wide hips, pronounced centre vent and narrow head line has this menacing look.

This is such a heart breaker since the make it or break it creature comforts I want are only in the 6th Gen but the real American bad ass pissed off get out of my way I eat mustangs looks on the 5th Gen (along with being more affordable) is a really damn tough decision!

Tell me I'm crazy for thinking this way?

5th gens have that raw, muscle car look to it. 6th gens are definitely sporty and don't have that "oomph" that muscle will bring.

Depends if you ultimately want muscle or sexy. Can't go wrong with either. Although I feel the interior on the 6th gen is 10000% better so that easily swayed me.

Some cars are jaw dropping when you look at them on the road but as soon as you get in you feel like you've been thwarted back to the 1980s (5th Gen) whereas others you write off as another dinky - insert brand name - but the minute you get in it's like a $60,000 luxury car and you're left sitting there feeling like you missed out for the next X months of your lease / finance.

The 6th Gen's size is way better.
The main reason the 5th Gen was large was because at the time that was the only RWD platform GM had for it...I honestly thought the 5th Gen looked a bit goofy-mainly that it was too big.
It drove great but I was glad to trade it in for the 6th Gen SS.
Now that I have my 2016 Camaro...I do not even think about my 5th Gen anymore...

Since you mentioned about not committing a financial suicide, did you consider 6th gen V6? There were good deals on the 6th Gen V6 2LT RS in November, possibly in Dec too if you search around. Dealers were selling 2016 models 2LT's for $30k

Financial suicide, with that said I wouldn't even consider buying a new car.

Yes very much so! I've looked at it from all aspects and the final conclusion comes out to this: the 6th Gen v6 2LT will be my car of choice simply due to:

A) Gas is less than the v8 but still the same (if not, a little cheaper) than the premium for the 4 bangers
B) 2LT is the equivalent of 2SS accessory wise which is very important to me
C) Being a Canadian, I'm pretty sure I'll get myself killed with a v8 in the winter even with good tires
D) Under 25, single, male, Toronto (Canadian New York), basically hitting all the red flags so insurance isn't kind to me at all right now with my Honda let alone an SS

Sadly being a Canadian, your $30k OTD is like $40k OTD for us here and that's not including taxes either. They say something like if your car is anything more than 30% of your total income, you're over paying but judging by that other thread where people are posting their incomes and car worth, I don't think I'm alone haha

I had a BMW and every time I saw a 5th Gen coming up behind me on the street I'd think, "Here comes another one of those dumb@sses thinking they're in a race." and forget about them.

Impress yourself. Get what you like and can afford.

Hands down the gen6 is a better car than the gen5 iMHO. If you are looking at 2015s I'm assuming you are open to a nice used car. There are V6 and some used low mileage gen6 that I am seeing on dealers lots. The interior is tons better, the platform is better, the power plants are better, and overall look, I believe is better. Handling is off the charts. I am also a visual person and love the tweeting they did to improve over gen5. For what it's worth.

I prefer my 6th gen over my old 5th gen in almost every way.

But I do miss the big red beast at times. I put a ton of mod money in it to make it my own. Rolling into a car cruise with the cutouts open and the cam thumping away was pretty special.

But the new blue beauty is a better car all the way around for handling, interior, ride quality, technology and is faster even though it's down on hp compared to the old one. The LT1 makes it happen and the car is engineered to put the power down and go!

Nope, not at all. The 5th gen has more of a muscle look if you ask me. Although the 6th gen is beautiful don't get me wrong I would place it along the lines of the supersport look if you ask although it may not have all of the same features. The 5th gen is a monster the 6th gen is a monster in a nicer way to me.

Financial suicide is never a good thing not for a car. there are many great cars for less money that are fun to drive and turn heads. Being a slave to a car payment is never a good thing, never.
