Gotcha. I thought there something unique to the paint used. True if not done right looks bad and metallic flake is worse.

Perhaps I shouldn't, but does anyone else on here get jealous/irritated when reading about the deals others are getting on their cars. I think I may have fooled myself into thinking I got one of the best deals I could at the time due to it being a new model year but I just read a guy is getting $5000 off a new 1LE. Wtf?!?! Even Becky gave me a comparable quote so I know it had to be good.

I did at first when the price drop got announced but then I remembered that's how retail works. If I had waited there might not have been any discounts. I feel happy and pleased with my purchase timeframe/deal. I'm just excited others are getting to enjoy the thrill of the Camaro. And still love mine.

I knew this was going to happen. The way I saw it, it would cost me the same because I would get the deals on the cars on the lot. So you're going to compromise on the color, rims, options, etc. and then you'll have to spend a few thousand making it your own. By ordering it the way I want it, I don't have to do anything to it. I paid invoice for mine which isn't the greatest deal but I got the car I wanted for a decent price. I haven't seen a car configured like mine anywhere (including the Interwebs).

Well said. I too feel glad I ordered mine. And you're right for those of us who ordered it's pretty rare to see our exact configuration on the lot. I know I'm the boat of haven't seen one yet as well.

I'm not jealous of the 2016 deals, I get that whole thing. I was poking around 2016 GMC Canyons as an updated DD and some dealers are doing the same thing.

I'm glad I got the 2017 and I think that's why I figured I got the best deal I could. But the 1LE right now is as "new" as mine was at the time and yet those people are getting decent deals. I couldn't even use the private offer I worked so diligently online to acquire, or anything else for that matter. The car hadn't changed other than the year and steering wheel emblem.

I agree about building, it's been a few months but last I checked I still can't find a car with my exact specs. Still not sure I'd do it again though.

To me it equates to tech. VCRs were super expensive when they came out. Then slowly they came down. There is always the early adopter curse. Part of it I feel. And I'm okay with that.

I'm sorry you feel like you didn't get a good deal in light of all the offers now.

And I will custom order again but to each their own. And that's okay.

I wouldn't buy this time of year anyway. You'd buy it then it'd go right into hibernation. It was enough torture putting it away last week and I had it since late June lol.

I'm taking the hibernation hard so far, maybe that explains my rants on pricing. But days like today with highs in the mid 20's and snow flurries help me cope. Even with a winter wheel and tire package I wouldn't want it out in this stuff.

I never was this depressed when the GTO went into hibernation and I really liked that car too.

I have my insurance set up where I can't drive it 3 months a year and I can pick the months. Naturally I chose December, January and February, so come March 1st I'm good to go! The problem is most of March can still be snowy and cold here.

It doesn't save me all that much money but I'd only be driving it 2 or 3 days each month anyway those months.
