Modifying Headrest

Finally got a chance to test-fit myself in the SS 1LE. I'm 6'4" tall and was concerned about headroom when wearing a helmet. I was pleased to find I fit fine (though helmet presses on the headliner which is no different than previous cars I've tracked). The Recaro seat bucket also felt great - plenty of width. However, I find the headrest comes too far forward off the seat back. It pushes on my shoulders or bottom of my head, depending on headrest height position and regardless if I am wearing the helmet or not. It doesn't appear headrest tilt is adjustable. It's uncomfortable enough it's putting to question if the 1LE is a good option for me. Has anyone experienced the same, or has anyone modified the headrest with good results? I'd prefer to not replace the seat entirely.

A lot of newer seats headrests are a little more forward now, it has something to do with new government regulations for head restraint.

Could very well be, though I've sat in a lot of new cars and never had the headrest interference.

It has to do with regulations for being rear ended and whiplash.

Most headrests will let you flip them for more helmet room.

if it really bothers you, you might be able to fit just any chevy headrest in there. You could maybe buy a Silverado or maybe even a caddillac like ats/escalade headrest and just replace it.. Just a thought.
