Does anyone know why sometimes my incoming texts don't alert me through the mylink? It seems to only happen when someone using a Samsung Galaxy variant phone texts me (I also use a Samsung phone). Only once did a text from my wife come through. My kids texts would come through until my daughter just got my wife's old phone, a Samsung, and now hers also don't come through.

My thought is it's because when you go Samsung to Samsung you can see when someone has read your texts, or when they were delivered, etc, and you don't see that when it's not Samsung to Samsung.

If they do indeed come through on your phone but not myLink, I would try another messaging app on your phone to see if it is the stock Samsung one. Otherwise un-pairing then re-pair your phone with myLink and be sure to accept all the permissions prompts. Also think Samsung has a "car mode", make sure that is off.

On the iPhone, it's not anything in the car, after you set text messages on in the my link, , it's in the iPhone itself. Once you go to Bluetooth and click on the my link Bluetooth device behind that is another menu that says "show notifications" and It is set at default to off, so I had the same problem, until I turned that on .....now all texts come through.

Thanks for the suggestions but negative. On phone all sharing is on, and car mode not an issue. Remember, I get texts through the mylink, just not from other Samsung phones...

What about using a different messaging app?

Mine has to be because the Samsung to Samsung communications come in as a instant message, not an SMS. If I were to change the app it would work, because then it would force it to SMS, but then you lose the IM functions (delivered, read, typing, etc). Sucks. Getting AA installed today, interested to see what happens using that instead of MyLink

When IPhone 6 is paired to car, I get text messages on phone but not through infotainment center. Anyone else have this issue with Iphones?

The text come through when you do this , voice will read them to you, but you can't answer them. It also seemed to work after a few hours not right away

I connect my iPhone 6 via Bluetooth and use Siri to answer texts after MyLink reads them to me. So I have to activate Siri manually. I can access the default text responses in MyLink but get a 'phone not capable' message when I try to send one.

Not sure if plugging in USB and using CarPlay will allow texts to be sent via MyLink. Have to try that. Hardly ever plug my phone into the car unless it needs to be charged.

I have the I Phone 7+ and 2016 Camaro SS, I do not receive text messages on My Link and just checked the menu on phone and it does say show notifications and still does not shows messages, my dealer tech guy says apple must be connected with usb but on my C7 it does it by bluetooth. Is there any other settings I am missing.

None that I know. I get texts in car using my iPhone 7, no USB wire, only BT...
