Text Messaging
Have a 2016 SS as well as a 2015 C7. Also using an Apple I Phone 7+.On my C7 when I receive a text message I get a message on the My Link saying so and do I want to reply, view or delete. On my Camaro SS I do not get texts, the text icon is on the screen but nothing ever shows, spoke with the dealer tech and his reply was it only does it with android not apple unless the usb is connected, wonder why if he is telling me the truth as my C7 has no problem showing texts with bluetooth.

The Camaro does get texts, I get them all the time in my RS. You can only have them read to you. I have not tried to respond to one. You need to go into the settings on your phone, not the car, and look for the notification "on" in the my link Bluetooth screen.

Try unpairing and repairing, as well as powercycling your phone

When I got my car on June 28th my phone automatically paired with the car and when I pulled off the lot I got an incoming text message that was read to me and I was asked if I wanted to respond. All voice prompts, I was able to reply and was asked if I was ready to send, and I did. I carried on a conversation for about 20 miles over the course of 30 mins, all hands free. It was amazing but I haven't attempting to do it again but the options are there....

Mine worked as stated by others on here for the first week, then suddenly lost text notification function. I unpaired and re-paired, hasn't acted up since.
