Mine fires right up. But it hasn't gotten really cold in SC yet.
We'll see what happens in Jan and Feb. |

4.365 cranks on a cold start at 73 degrees, 78% humidity and partly cloudy skies. Warm start takes 1.62 cranks at 83 degrees and 71% humidity. Hot start barely cranks because the starter tends to suffer from heat soak.

Mine is a 2ss M6 and it does take a couple of seconds for the first start of a cold day, but I usually put my foot on the brake pedal, hit the start button, let everything come to life (gauges, info center, etc), then push the clutch and start button to ignite. I had that habit with all of my FI vehicles to get fuel from the tank to the injectors and have continued that routine with my 2ss.

On a 6M SS if you press the start button for 5 seconds without pushing the clutch you will hear the fuel system pressurize. Release the start button and press it again WITH the clutch this time and the car will turn over right away, even in really cold Colorado temps. Otherwise it does take 4-7 cranks when cold. I would assume the A8 will function the same if you press start for 5 seconds without foot on brake.
