There has to be something wrong. Go find a desolate road and set your 0-60 timer on display, set it to sport or track mode, mash the gas and tell us what you get. You are driving a car that has a chassis designed to handle this engine so it feels more refined and can sometimes be misleading.

It's probably the delay for fuel economy. Do yourself a favor and buy a throttle controller. You won't feel the same again. Another possible explanation is that it's a new car. New auto transmissions are going to be jerky and rough until it breaks in and learns you.

Mine also seems to shift odd at times, when I'm cruising and the RPM's are at or below 1200, then give it a little petal, then seems to hard down shift.

Test drive another SS.

Unfortunately GM has had a rash of issues with the 8 speed auto trans, several on the forum are getting new torque converters or new transmissions.

my 2015 impala 6 speed shifted the same way my camaro is , hard down shifts coming to a stop feeling like you get bumped from behind, dragging into gear from 1st to second , but now I just hit 10k and I gatta say I love the car , more than this damn camaro right now, I have not gotten out to the dealership yet to try out another ss but i will this week , I hope maybe the car will smooth out like my impala did, I think the camaro should have just had a six speed auto , It bothers me that my impla feels so much faster from the start, but the camaro obviously will make you feel like your launching to the moon when the impla just kicks to the left a little and takes off lol.

I have a 4T with the 8 speed auto and I have been noticing this too. I have been wondering how to describe it to the dealer and your "bumped from behind" description on down shifts is spot on. I also experience the issue on the 1-2 shift. It's the worst cold, but then not as bad after the first couple stop signs. This is under very little throttle, not flooring it. Please keep us updated if you find anything. Thanks!!!!

See if you can have the dealer reprogram the TCM and ECM. Had this same issue back in the spring, after they reprogrammed both, car was night and day difference. Was not shifting right from day 1 when I picked it up last December.

I went for an oil change at 7.000 miles and they told me that GM had a bulletin out to reprogram the A8. I agree and after that the car feels much stronger.
