One Piece Driveshaft?

I want a 1-piece driveshaft for my 2016 Camaro 1SS m6... Does anyone know if there is one made for these cars yet?

You mean A8. The IRS of the Camaro means you have halfshafts.

I just ordered, and should be receiving today the first 4" 1 piece driveshaft from GForce. They do offer a 3.5" which is good for up to about 700 rw. I highly recommend GForce for axles and driveshafts

The driveshaft connects the transmission to the differential...well before the IRS and axles...

Sometimes referred to as a prop shaft.

In the Camaro, it is a two-piece unit, connected in the middle by a universal joint and bolted to the body.

I wish they would rate things in torque capacity not HP. HP ratings are meaningless on something like this.

I agree, but I'm not out to change the world. I'm guessing that in most instances the torque does not exceed the HP rating, and often times is pretty close. Pretty much anyone whos been on a dyno can tell you exactly that HP number... You could throw in that no two dynos measure the same torque either...

why would they need a two piece driveshaft? is it to minimize vibrations? kinda weird as the diff is stationary compared to SRA.

the benefits to a 1-piece is less weight?

strength?

There's no scientific benefit to switch to a one piece drive shaft. The two piece actually has a function believe it or not. That unbelievably quiet and smooth ride you experience every time you drive it has alot to do with it. We have to throw away the old school chain of thought when it comes these new cars. The ONLY advantage you could have over a two piece shaft is if you plan on ditching the IRS altogether and going to a live axle set up which means your intentions are to be in the 1000+rwhp range. Other than that it's a total waste of money. Hell they even weigh the same....
