If you get the winter tire / rim setup you will need new TPMS for each. Ran me $80each ... Canadian ... so like $10 US lol

Put those on my car a couple of weeks ago. OEM size as you say. I like them better than the stock run-flats. Actually selling the run-flats since I won't be putting them back on. Luckily though we have two front wheel drive cars to drive when there is snow on the ground. Can keep the Camaro in the garage.

I'm not saying there should be penalties for stupidity,

Does that mean I can just keep my stock rims or do I need to get a new one?

You live just north of DC, right? Two years ago there were only three days in the winter I couldn't drive my Camaro with the stock tires because of heavy snowfalls that closed roads, schools and offices anyway in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.

Unless you have the RS package I'd reconsider the need to buy anything where you are located.

You may want to think about a winter tire and wheel package.

I'm going to remove those plastic wind deflectors that hang down under the front bumper in front of the wheels. They don't give enough ground clearance and I'm afraid they'll tear off or get damaged plowing through the snow.
Lukemo, let me know how removing those plastic underhangs go. Ive already bottomed them out a couple times. Might come off for good for me.
Also, Adp2017, where can I find these mudflaps and are they no-drill or will i have to drill them in?

Thanks guys

I have two spare TPMS sensors that I'll sell for $50 if you're interested. Removed from takeoffs. PM me if you want them.

I guess it does have a thin coat of some stuff... but as you can see there's already visible rust :( I'll post pics of it after the coating is applied.

Oh cool. Yea I figured I'll just keep my tires for now since they're new anyways and I'm pretty sure I'll get off work if the snow is bad.

It's not just the amount of snow an area gets, there are other factors involved. Hills are a big one. Snow in a flat area is hugely different than snow in the hills. Also, in the Mid-Atlantic, they get a lot of mixed precipitation. Snow mixed with sleet and freezing rain makes the snow worse. Also, how well an area treats the roads. Maryland often pre-treats the major roads before a snow event. A hop, skip, and a jump over to rural West Virginia (not very far from MD), and you will be lucky if they plow the snow before spring.

I just put the Sottozero on my SS. Only have a few miles on them, so it's hard for me to comment. But, so far, I am surprised that they don't make more noise, and the acceleration grip is pretty good. Turn in was not as good, but the tires are not broken in yet, and that will get better in a few hundred miles. In just the couple dozen miles, the turn in is already getting better.

Can't wait for some snow to try out the new tires!!

They do treat the roads before a big snow comes. My commute to work is on a main highway then 495 so it should be clean.
