1st time drag track with new nitto nto5!
So,
Mods are green drop in filter, muffler delete and literally brand new nitto nto5 on the rears 275/35r20 Could not get much traction best run ended up at 12.3@115.6 this was achieved launching from idle and slowly putting my foot all the way in it. My 60ft all night was aweful best i could get was a 2.06!!! 11s are definately achievable with a 1.7 or better. Not sure if it was the track or what but any suggestions getting out of the hole with the A8 would be helpful. Launch control is a hell no was terrible at the track, mashing it off idle only resulted in spin city. Only way i made a decent pass was running a 2.06 60ft and 12.3 which was slowly getting into it off an idle launch. Again any and all help would be great. Track temp was 65 degrees DA was prob around 400

I go to Orlando, so unless you were there on an off night, it's odd to me as they usually prep very well. But, I think there was an event the week before, so that could explain it... |

When we were stock, getting out of the hole was effortless at Bradenton Motorspeedway. We ran off idle and consistent low 12's with 1.9 60's. A tune (no E85) and ported TB netted us 11.9's on the stock run flats with a 1.7 60'.
This weekend, we will get tuned for E85, our CAI, and a ported intake. Along with our DRs, we hope for solid high 11's here in FL.

I used to pull 1.7 60ft times with my cobalt ss but maybe its me getting used to the car or maybe the track wasnt the best.... all i know is i was lookin for some advice as i cant understand how an idle launch and sticky as all hell tires cannot get traction... these new tires on a sidenote are awesome... ive never felt the car slam second gear so hard...

NT05 or NT05R? Sounds like its just the normal, non drag radial 05.
Launch technique? Depending on the prep, definitely try different things and see what works.

Was that at PBIR? Did you ever run stock? My best mph is has only been 89.x and 113.5 but with stock tires I've done 1.875 60 foot but mostly low 1.9s. I'm kind of bummed. That was just letting off the brake and pressing the gas.

I ran my Nitto 555g2's at the LS fest they hooked pretty darn good. I think I had a 1.80 and a 1.78 or 1.79. I've not had the Nt05's but I have had the Nt05r's on my supercharged g8. I didn't like them as much as the M/t's but they were pretty solid. I cut a 1.64 with the M/t's and best with the Nt05r's was 1.74. Still a good tire, but Nt05's probably aren't gonna get into the 1.70's with that tires.
