(Crash) Don't Turn Traction and Stability Control Off On The Road

Last night with no one around me, I was heading home and thought I would have some fun on a roundabout so I turned Traction and Stability control off.
BAD IDEA if you don't know the cars limit. Went into a drift and ended up scraping the nose against some concrete with a less than 5 mph crash into the concrete.

Mistakes happen, I just wanted to warn other Camaro drivers against turning these safety features off if you want to have a little extra fun with the car.

My Camaro is 2 months old and will be in the body shop this week. Luckily I have zero engine or frame damage.

That sucks sorry. I know what you mean for sure though

Had some close calls myself. Throttle controller turned up on an ss on a cold night. I gave it about 1/3 throttle cruising down a side street. Car downshifted shot violently sideways my head hit the driver side window lol. Was going for a light pole corrected it just in time.

Sorry about the accident but glad it was only a bumper and nothing injured other than some pride. Might be a good time to upgrade to an SS bumper or maybe a ZL1 bumper ????
OK, just a thought!!!!

The car is a Monster with the Nannies on.....taking them off...... ????

I had a little fun with them off in a straight line. Night and day difference on what the car does with the power, it was an eye opener for sure.

Nannies on until I learn how to control this Beast properly.

Upgrade your bumper is my suggestion.

Glad you are OK, but you have to show respect for these cars. I have a great time with my SS but I respect tbe hell out of the power it has and especially all the mountains twisty roads I love to drive on.

I'm not trying to be a smart-aleck...But is your car a V6 or T4 ? I noticed your Camaro is a 1LT (?).

Well, at least you owned up to it. If you didn't turn off the stability control completely you probably would, have prevented the wreck. The competive mode will give you some more slip angle before cutting off the power.

Glad you are okay, that is the most important. I know for sure not to go crazy if I put it to competition mode... always easy on the throttle until you are straight is always on the back of my mind.
