Onstar

How many owners renew the Onstar after the free trial. I am also on the Corvette forum with a 2015 and now it has a cousin with my 2016 SS. On the Corvette forum very few renew am wondering how it is with our Camaro's. I do like the directions they give as if you want to take local streets it gives the directions that the car navigation, apple maps or google maps don't show. Was going somewhere my phone did not show the road as it was a dirt one but onstar knew. Problem is Onstar is so way Overpriced at $329 + taxes per year, per car. A few years ago was able to get it for $209 from corporate onstar but not now. If they kept it around $200 lots would keep it.

With XM, you can always get a decent discount if you are patient and ask the right person. I tried that with Onstar several times and basically was told to hit the road - they would not budge. So, I did not renew. Too expensive.

So very true, Onstar could care less if you renew. With XM I call the corporate customer service # and get the best deal they have.

my phone does all that... with Android Auto. I have never touched the onstar button. I may keep the xm radio but that is it.

I keep it on both my vehicles. It's the same service and more as AAA but less. I didn't get the full blown service, but I did get some discount for multi car and paying entire year.
