So far I haven't heard one good reason as to why the technology can't be developed to overcome this solution... what a marketable idea especially if no one currently has a manuel that can have a factor remote start. If the car is in gear then it doesnt start. the only way to make the remote start work is if the car is in neutral, parking break on. The only way to put the car in gear after remote start has been applied is to physically press the break pedal. This is so simple and not one engineer at GM can figure it out! Unreal! (and scene)

Don't kid yourself ....it has nothing to do with engineering .....of course they know how to do it…it's stuck in legal.

What use would it be if it doesn't start in gear?
You are not suggesting people park in neutral are you?

My dear new member....Welcome to Camaro6.

It's about time you gave some serious thought to this before posting any further...

...Auto start has been around for decades. Mostly started in the aftermarket...some attribute the 1989 Buick Regal, Oldsmobile Cutlass, and Pontiac Grand Prix as being the first factory cars to offer the option. All GM brands.

So if you think they're sitting in Detroit with their thumbs up their behinds not figuring it out - please, think again. There is a great reason...and it's called Liability. What happens when that one car, somewhere, at some time, has neutral-shifter sensors that fail...and a car auto starts, pinning a family against their house...killing them? An exaggeration...but that's the way a multi-billion dollar company's lawyers think.

For now, you'll need to look to the aftermarket. And as I said...even those systems don't rely on a simple sensor...you have to engage in a series of steps and procedures to ensure the car is completely out of gear, before the system will work.

Finally....

"Manuel" = Manual
"Factor" = Factory
"break" = brake
"and scene" = End Scene

Think a bit harder before you start throwing misspelled punches for posts...

remote start is cool, but the choice of transmission type far outweighs it, so focus on that.

With an electric parking brake engaged, what could go wrong

I don't see anywhere in your signature that you have a 2017 ZL1 manual on order yet.

Just get the A10. That way you will have the remote start.
