iPhone/CarPlay issues

Anybody else have VERY spotty performance with CarPlay? Mine keeps quitting randomly and dumping me back to the radio screen (and there's no going back until I leave the car off for 5+ mins).

Recently, the USB ports seem to have just died. Can't get CarPlay at all, and the phone won't even charge.

Not sure if it's related, but my bluetooth comes and goes too. On a 20 minute commute, it probably drops and then reconnects 2x.

And yes, it's an Apple branded cable. Brand new, actually. And I have tried with both my phone (7) and another (5s).

1LT RS with 7" MyLink. Any ideas?

Same car, same problems. I feel like MyLink is fairly useless. Bluetooth comes and goes. Sometimes i have to re-connect to BT thru the settings of the phone. Sirius cuts out. Switches between CarPlay and Bluetooth with no warning or reason.

The sad thing is I rented a Mustang last month and my phone and radio synched seamlessly. I didn't have to set anything up and the phone and music worked perfectly.

Take it to the dealer. Likely have a bad HMI. There are plenty working just fine. I've had zero issues with Android Auto which works the same way.

Well that's good to hear. That was my plan but it definitely helps to hear what the problem may be. What exactly does the HMI do?

Can't remember what it stands for but the HMI is the real brains behind myLink. The screen, NAV/GPS, USB ports, etc... all connect to the HMI. I've seen several members who had odd issues with myLink solved by the dealer replacing it. If your issue isn't just the physical USB port acting up, HMI will be the likely culprit.
