I traded my 2014 mustang GT track pack in for my 2017 Camaro SS because it drove like shit and was just a tire burner. the only bad thing was I just pay it off...

Came from a G8. For months, I was thinking of replacing it with either a Jeep Grand Cherokee or a Tacoma/Colorado to make hauling my bicycles easier. Couldn't make up my mind because I knew I'd miss the power of the G8, but the interior and suspension on those cars is nothing to write home about.
A Camaro was never on my radar. I've never really liked the gen5 and when the gen6 came out, it was out of my price range. 1 year and a new job later, combined with the discounts, I couldn't think of owning anything else. Found one with all the options I wanted that was close enough to drive to and picked it up. Also picked up an older Explorer for winter and bike duty. |

Depends on the road. For me the camaro is more fun. Cause it's a vert and the Vettes were all coupes. For a really tight twisty road - neither is great and a Miata is better. But generally the SS is close to parity with a C6 or C5Z on a back country road. Vette has slightly more grip and shorter wheelbase. But both are wide and not so tossable. Brakes and steering feel better in camaro. Vette is a little bit lighter but that's offset by a stiffer chassis in the camaro making it more stable over bad sections of road. Lt1 has a broader tq curve too. Very similar driving experience.

996 C2 C6 z51 2014 Miata Although I bought it to replace a 3 series BMW which I don't consider a sports car. 2 seater small sports car just stopped making sense for me As it really limited when I could drive it. Camaro does everything better than those cars anyway. Almost. There is nothing quite like steering feel in a 911. But overall I'd rather have the SS. |

My story....
I rode a motorcycle (Yamaha FZ6) to work everyday for several years, year round, 70 miles/day, in traffic. It was nice to get to work fast regardless of traffic, and I could use the car pool lane and split lanes, etc. I put over 75k miles on that bike until I wandered into a Chevy dealer and saw the Camaro. I had always liked the way the 5th Gen looked and I had no idea 2016 was a new generation. It was on my mind for 3 months... every time I drove by the dealer I would think about the Black on Black gloss wheels one I wanted. It had the $2000 wheel upgrade with red stripe and the $3000 Brembos up front, black bowties, it was so bad ass. I stopped by about 4 times, showed my sons, brought the wife by, i couldn't stop thinking about it. I was hoping the dealer would sell the Black one so I could say "Good, glad that is over"... but it was still there. one day, they had the Black one INSIDE the dealership, rotating! it was awesome. I finally made an offer on it... they said no but we have others... and I said "no" and left. I could not justify it... "what do I need this Camaro for?" I would say.. Everything it is good at is illegal! but it is so damn cool though... all that power with a manual trans... someday you won't be able to buy something like this anymore. Plus all the gadgets too, it would be nice treat for me.... I deserve it right!. Problem was I didn't want to trade my truck.... so this would be yet another extra vehicle.. I REALLY don't need that. I finally talked myself into getting the Camaro (in July 2016) by saying I need to stop riding that bike to work, I'm pushing my luck, etc. My wife worried everyday that I rode a motorcycle. So I finally got the Camaro. The Black on Black with every option one I originally wanted did sell before I made my decision so I considered other colors until I found the Nightfall Gray Metallic with black wheels, M6, MRC, NPP, sunroof, etc which is the one I took home. The Black one was very flashy, I'm glad I have the Gray one instead. Bottom line, I only rode my FZ6 to work once since July.. and when I got home I said I'm never doing THAT again. that's the problem with commuting on a bike, I never rode it for fun. (that reminds me I need to sell that thing!) so I drive my Camaro everyday, 35 miles each way, in traffic, etc, but I look forward to it every day. hit that Start button and KaPow! love it.

I knew coming that I wanted the two badass colors available.. Black or red (Yeah I want it flashy haha)! Next was Nightfall gray which is close to black but you stay under the radar. The black rims with the red tape is PURE on a black car or red car.! Black rims really make it look aggressive which just fits the personality of the LT1. |

We always keep our cars 10+ years. It's part of our budgeting plans to keep our debt ratio in check, and really for us, the only way to financially make sense of having a car like this. That being said, my thoughts are to keep a car that long, it has to be interesting/entertaining. So I do a lot of research, read all about the 10 Best lists, comparisons with others, etc.
My last car was a 2003 Infinity G35 Couple with the M6 & Brembo's. Drove it for 13 years, satisfied all my needs & kept my interest. It was a very nice car for me, handled well, reliable, looked good. But was getting time to consider what was next. One of our grandkids needed a reliable car as he was heading off to college, so we decided to give him a great deal on the G35 & pull the trigger on a replacement for us. The Gen6 with the Alpha platform & LT1 really had my interest. Certainly the comparisons with the M series & 10 Best reviews were influencing my choices. A C7 would be too much of a stretch (but I really liked it). I have had a bunch of Mustangs, many Nissan Z cars (to which I consider the G35 to be part of that family), & wanted one last "bad assed" muscle car. So we bought when the 0% interest came last July. I found one out of state that was discounted & had all that we wanted. Also in Oregon we have no sales tax, so that helps with a purchase of this size. |

I didnt switch over. I still have my 89.
The only reason I am buying this one is the body style. To me with the bulk and the front end it looks more aggressive and badder ass than the vette. |

Haha Yep, I love the front end and it looks more meaner than the C7.. But, from the back is where the C7 SHINES and looks more aggressive while the Camaro looks more muscular.
