I just ordered mine last night from HPTuners otherwise I would have gone through you. Let me know if you still need a 2017 A8 bone stock ECU file.

I'd love to take a look at it if you don't mind sending it.

Thank you,
Tim

Do you guys offer a tune or a discount on the tune if we order hptuners through you?

Are you tuning for efi now? Last time I asked you were not tuning for others....

What's the difference between standard and pro?

ULTRAZLS1,

Thank you for the questions. I will answer each one individually.

1. I just became official with HP Tuners today so I need to think through the pricing over the next couple of days. Some vendors enforce strict pricing restrictions so I have to be careful how I offer discounts or I risk losing the relationship. Not all shops adhere to those rules unfortunately. I do plan on having some Black Friday specials. I hope to have those on the website tomorrow.

2. EFI Tuning is my company. It has been something I have thought about doing for quite a long time and I finally decided to do it. Tuning is the core of the business but we will be offering products that a synergistic with that. If a product is a proven performer or has a solid value proposition I will try to offer it. It will be rare that I have competing products on the same vehicle platform. I am also not looking to carry parts just for parts sake.

3. Whether you need the professional version or the standard version primary depends on two factors...

1. Pro offers black box logging. I do not use this very much personally but others may find it useful to not need the laptop hooked up continually.

2. Wideband choice. If your wideband has a serial output or can communicate on the OBDII bus you do not need the Pro version. If your wideband sensor is analog out you will need the Pro version.

I hope to be carrying this soon but the wideband sensor I personally use and recommend is the AEM 30-0333 (http://www.aemelectronics.com/?q=pro...and-uego-obdii). This wideband sensor utilizes the OBDII bus to transmit its data. To HP Tuner it essentially looks like an ECM. There are zero ground offsets to contend with in your readings and the data rate is 100 Hz vs a maximum of 10 Hz for all others. For the money you save on the standard version of HP Tuners you are well on your way to covering the cost of the AEM 30-0333.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,
Tim

Thanks a lot. Im not ready to tune yet the car is going up for the winter soon. You are one of the few at the top of my list for tuners ATM. Will be exploring options and costs over the next few months.
