I didn't personally buy this car for a sound system. however I'm pretty good at wiring things up and I'll likely get a subwoofer system in this bad boy sooner or later.

The sound system for me is great but there is rattles that drive me nuts. The one i noticed is the controller for the mirrors isn't quite snug so when the bass kicks in it vibrates a lot I'm not sure how to fix it.

Spoke to Steve at Sub thump about a week ago.
As far as I know, he doesn't have an ETA for that.
He also said that the 2SS one will come after the !SS.

No offense to Sub thump but how long can it take? He's been "working" on it for most of a year. I realize there is lots of time and testing involved, but the 5th gen harness should lay the groundwork for whats needed for the 6th gen harness.

Anyways, all I really want is to make my 1SS sound as good as a 2SS! lol. I love bass too, and I've had custom subs in my past cars/trucks, but this time around I don't really want that, and I don't want to give up the already limited trunk space. The 1SS seems to have the same speakers as the 2SS, but it is missing the speakers in the rear deck, and it has a more powerful/larger amp.

If someone can tell me how to easily get a couple of a good quality 6x9s in the rear and hook them up to an amp (or use the 2SS amp) I'd be all for it. Thats why I was hoping to see the ******** harness come along. makes all of that simple.

Stop, WAIT.... my car has a sound system????? Who knew!! I'll have to try it someday after I get tired of the dual mode exhaust. Which will be never.

The biggest problem is the "Noise cancelling system" in the camaro. Anything the noise mics in the doors pick up, will be "cancelled" through the low frequncies in the sub... meaning you will have terrible resonance and engine noise through the sub. If you disconnect the wires for the noise mics, then you lose your turn signal chimes and cross fire detection sounds in the dash speakers.

I've been all through this shit and eventually pulled the sub/amp out because I just couldnt get it all to play right with the Bose amp and noise cancelling system. This really sux considering how crappy the bose sounds in the Camaro.

I have the Bose premium system in my C7 and it sounds at least 10X better then the Bose in the 2SS...

Has anyone tried to cover the microphone. Will this improve the quality of the system?
(If engine is off the Bose sounds good, while driving not at all!)

Is the microphone making the chimes???
Then changing from micro to speaker can be a solution.

--there is always a solution, we only have to find it!!

What is noise cancelling? And how does it effect the audio system sound?

Yes! I miss the entire system in the 401A package. 12 speakers with the sub rocked.
