That car looks like a fun car. Does it get FS or DS?

Assuming this is not going to be a factory installed option all of these mods would move the car out of any of the street classes. My guess is this is built for Street Touring Ultra with the 285mm tire limit, however if the ECU tune affects the boost map this is a direct ticket to a Prepared class where R-Comps are needed. If this is something that is going to be offered from the factory then FS or DS is most likely. It's a really great setup and I think it would do well in STU if the boost map is not changed with the tune.

Took delivery last weekend. Loving it so far!
Any suggestions from those that have tracked or autocrossed their car on typical spares to have? I always order extra wheel studs, but am unsure what else commonly might go on this car? Fender clips, certain seals or boots, etc? This of course goes beyond the normal things autocrossers bring like extra wheels, lugnuts, brake pads, tools, etc. Looking for 6th gen Camaro specific items. Thanks! |

Stuff to take

Now if you are at a track, or the Solo Nationals, and hundreds of miles from home; that is a completely different ball of wax... Track involves a lot more heat, and a lot more wear. Bring everything, and a trailer to haul the car home if something goes sideways... That said, GO Have FUN! |

Quick update regarding Strano bar- here in the northeast, it is already getting cold. Lots of squeaking and noise from the front end when temps drop below 40 degrees. I'm going to change back to the stock bar for the winter this weekend to see if the suspension squeaks go away.

It appears the "grease" that was included with the kit has some strange properties. It is super sticky and not very lubricating. I'm guessing this is the reason it was squeaking and making so much noise. Any suggestions on different grease for sway bar bushings? Needs to stand up to cold weather. |

I've had pretty good luck with 3M Silicone paste (a boat shop might be your best bet for finding it), and I've been specifically running Strano bars on my car for at least half a dozen years. Might be every other year the bar bushings get a fresh coat brushed on if I'm down under there for some other reason and happen to think that it's been a while since the last re-lubing. The Strano bars stay on the car year round and I drive it year round.

I used marine grease on my Strano bar that was on my '12 Mustang. That seemed to work well for me and didn't seem to affect the bushings in any negative way... No squeaks and stayed well lubricated. I did eventually install UMI billet aluminum frame mounts with zerk fittings, too.
I think I'm going to do the ZL1/1LE front bar and call it good. I'm only planning to do this one next season of Solo with the car. |

2017 Camaro SS 1LE classing for SCCA Autocross
The December 2016 SCCA "Fastrack News" just posted. On page 16, they say the SAC (Street Advisory Committee, I think) is
waiting to get more real-world data on the car before making a classing decision. Gosh, what else do they need to know; how many pre-sets are in the radio? Come on... I can only imagine that they need "more real world data" to decide between A Street and B Street to class the 1LE in. Guess we'll have to wait another at least another month to find out. This is worse than the poor blokes who have ordered one to find out when GM will build and ship their new 1LEs..... |

Over on SCCAforum.com, most are leaning to B-Street.
The GT350 is in AS, but that's both track pack and non-track pack cars. Lots of requests to move GT350 to BS, also. IMHO, 6th Gen 1LE goes to AS and ZL1 goes to SS (where the 350R is).
