To tpms or not to tpms

so ordered new wheels/tires since it's not recommended to use the stock performance tires, ust wondering if i should get tpms sensors or not? how many of you guys aren't using some?

also seem really expensive 80$ each on tire rack

Since I just went through this I have to chime in. I elected to get TPMS sensors from the Tire Shop I used. They put them in but for some reason the 2016 Camaro is different from the previous models and they could not get them to work. I then had to revert back to the TPMS sensors out of my factory wheels to get them to work.

If you don't do it at all you will get a NAG screen every time you get in the car and will not know when you have a tire going down.

If you are running Runflats it will be extremely hard to tell when you have a flat by looking it it.

It will be easier and cheaper. It's not bad to have them on.

If you are racing, do want a couple guys on the Corvette forum have done. This works,It's not a question if it works. Take a PVC pipe a foot long and Get 2 airtight caps. Drill a hole for a valve. Open up one end and put in all 4 sensors along with a microfiber towel so they don't rattle around. Cap ends airtight. Inflate to 35 PSI. Put tube in the trunk and It will see all four sensors all the time, and you won't have to run any sensors in the tires.

The ones I bought from a Chevy Dealer was part # GM13598787. I paid $54.18 a piece and $3.50 for each retaining nut. Hope this helps.

That'll do 'er.

For the record, for my Summer Wheels/Tires I took the TPMS from the OEM wheels/tires. For my winter setup, I just don't use TPMS.

I got mine off EBay for about $70 but I just went back on to get a link and they're no longer on there. Mine worked great and are on the car now. For that kind of money why wouldn't you do the TPMS.
