Borla Cat Delete pipes

Hey guys! I have the Corsa Extreme Axle Back on my car right now, with stock pipes the rest of the way through,. I'd like to get rid of the secondary cats, and I'm trying to assess my options. I found this on Phastek Performance.

http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...dlte-60626.htm

Will this fit onto the stock pipes without issue? Also, would I just be better off having a shop delete the cats instead of replacing the whole section? Thanks!

That will bolt up to your system and get rid of the secondary cats since you only have the axle back.

A little off topic but how do you like your Corsa exhaust? I'm debating on Corsa or borla at the moment. Also where did you get it from?

Thank you!

Im absolutely in love with it. I was also debating between Borla and and Corsa, and I was nervous I had made the wrong choice. Not a chance. It sounds insane when you get on it, and the downshifts are sinister. I can't imagine what it would be like without the second cats. I got it from Phastek Performance, they got it to me in less than a week.

Thank you! I think this is the route I'll go so I wont have to do any major cutting, and I can always put the cats back on.

Im planning to get these soon, better on the wallet than the ~$700 option for the mids and X-pipe. Judging from the pics it comes with some clamps to save us some muffler shop welding. But if it turns out the kit doesnt include them StateofMind415 gave this link https://www.summitracing.com/parts/VPE-1176 to some nice looking clamps, not sure if it would work on this section of the exhaust but its a nice option.
Also, when I had the cat delete done it was about 100$ for both, In my opinion $258 isnt too steep for this product considering it bolts on and is from a reputable comapny!

This system might be able to be modified to attach the to factory midpipe and delete secondary cats, but I don't think it was meant to. Sounds like the rearward part is meant to mate up to 3 inch aftermarket exhaust? I think it was meant to replace the portion of the aftermarket borla exhausts that people bought that kept the secondary cats. Then this would replace the front piece.

I admit im a little confused too but this was in the product description:

*Fits 2016-2017 Camaro SS models with Borla Cat-Back Exhausts only - for OEM Exhaust Manifolds - will not work with aftermarket headers

These adapters are used to delete the cats and adapt a 3" Borla exhaust system to the OE manifolds

I did some more research. It essentially looks like the piece you would buy if you previously bought one of the their catback systems that started behind the secondary cats. Then later you decide you want to delete the secondary cats you would buy this piece to replace the front section of their cat back.

I wish they would just sell a 2.75inch version of it but I'm pretty sure they won't because it would hurt the sales of their Xpipe and full catback systems.

Bummer, thanks for looking into it further. That makes sense tho.

So, theoretically, an exhaust shop might be able to mate the 2.75" stock pipes to this 3" pipe?

Is this even worth the hassle? Or should I just have a shop delete the cats and weld a pipe in?

Theoretically yes. If they have the proper tools they could crimp down the 3 inch pipe to a 2.85 inch diameter and slip it over the factory midpipe. Then weld it up. If you could find a good shop it might be a pretty good option actually. I would do this over having the secondary's cut out and putting a pipe in its place for my reasons mentioned earlier in this thread.

Given the cost of this would be $500-600 I think I would rather pony up the rest of the $$ and get the full X pipe from Borla and install it myself. But other may find the $500ish option a good compromise on quality and price to have the secondary cats deleted.

I have these brand new in the box from Borla that I'll sell for $240 shipped. Decided to go a different route with my car. Can ship tomorrow. I had to wait on them
