Vitesse throttle controller thoughts

Installed mine last night, and honestly, this is a pretty freakin sweet mod for anyone looking to bypass a tune for the time being. Definitely helps out with some of that slight lag, although you aren't going any faster, it really feels like it with the increased sensitivity on the throttle. Loving it so far, and it's not too expensive for what it is! Just thought I'd share my opinion on it for anyone who is really careful with mods and not looking to spend a ton of money like me :P

I agree its a great gadget to get before a tune. For me I use the eco settings as well and it makes this gas guzzling v8 more of a everyday use car; then when its track day I can just swap over to sp5 or something and have my 455hp v8 with a super sensitive throttle.

I don't get it, Tour mode vs Sport does the same thing with the throttle.

I don't get it. I must not be as sensitive to the lag because I just don't feel it. When I hit the gas I go. Now if I switch to manual mode the transmission shifts are slow.

I mean the controller at the highest setting makes a tap of the trottle appear to computer as mashed all the way down. The Lag isn't in the response the lag is the time it takes for you to mash your foot down. The eco settings are the opposite.

And you never will unless you try it. Maybe you should.

yeah sport mode might have a tad bit more throttle response, but not like this mod, or a tune will get you.

Yeah while sport and track do help the throttle a bit. It doesn't completely eliminate it, at least in my opinion. This mod can literally make a tap of the pedal instantaneous WOT lol. It's pretty awesome.

Can't comment on A8, as I haven't driven it, my car is manual. However I really do think that if you installed it, and switched between the 'sp 0' which is no modified input from the controller to 'sp 9' which is the highest sensitivity, you will without a doubt feel the difference.

I think fundamentally it's just not for me. I like the old right foot method. I guess I just don't find it necessary. Really, to each their own. If you like it, that's great. I just don't think it something I'm willing to spend my money on. Especially since I'm not feeling the "lag".

Mods are definitely people specific. I mean, really, look at my purple stripes. Enjoy!

can you "tune" the lag out if you ahave a tuner? If so I will just wait for the tune.

Yeah so essentially this mod is mainly for someone who is looking to forgo a tune right now. When you get a tune it wouldn't be necessary as throttle response and stuff is one of the things tune's are supposed to make better. I didn't want to get into tuning or anything just yet because of warranty so for now, this gets the job done!

No argument there, 100% agree. If it ain't broke for you, no need to fix it!

No...No it doesn't. I had the VTC in my 2010 2SS and it was the very first thing I bought after getting my 2017 2SS. Until you drive it, you won't get it. The moment you do...you will. I've driven my 2017 in both Tour and Sport with and without VTC installed. A WORLD of difference!

Same comment here...I see all of these posts by people who swear up and down that just pushing down more on the accelerator pedal will accomplish the same thing. They cite facts and science to back up their argument. I can say that if I just read those arguments, I probably would not have bought the VTC. Now, after buying it and driving with it installed, these same arguments read so silly--because I KNOW. It's like theorizing about what it would be like to walk on the moon. Those who have, KNOW. Everyone else is just providing their best-informed opinion, which in the case of the VTC, I KNOW is wrong. Because i have actually driven with it. It's just that simple.

Bottom line...you're not getting any more horsepower...but it WILL feel like it. The car will feel and react differently than it does without the VTC. 99.9% of you who get it will love it. A few won't...that's just life.

For me...it is the mod that has yielded the most obvious and perceptible, unmistakable performance effect compared to any other mod I have ever done on my car. In full disclosure, I have only ever done naturally-aspirated stuff. No super- or turbo-chargers. But I don't think I'll be picking up one of those for $180.

To those who don't believe it will make this much of a difference...just try it. If you don't like it, you'll have no trouble selling it (gently used) at nearly the price you bought it.

It really will deliver a significant change/enhancement to your driving experience in these cars.
