Chevy Cruz Headlights

When I bought my Camaro. The destintive headlights and aggressive styling were the first things I noticed.
Now it seems Chevy is using some of the styling on other models. What is the general impression of this.

Looks pretty different to me...all I see is slight brand identity, which is to be expected.

What he said. Also if you look athe the Camaro styling you can see a lot of c7 stingray corvette. It's all good!

Also, the Silverados and Sonics look similar. It's exactly as said above, brand identity. Plus, many many cars are going towards those led strips.

Brand identity and cost savings. If they can buy more of the same parts to use on multiple vehicles then they can save money and avoid going bankrupt again. Headlights are very costly. Similarities like this one across multiple vehicles is just something you as a consumer will need to come to terms with. It's unlikely to change.

I'm very pleased that Chevy and GM are doing their own designs and not trying to copy others. Mustangs and nice looking, but if you saw a 2006 you wouldn't be moved by a 2016. I like the looks of the Cruze and am waiting for another diesel before I consider one as my daily driver.

The Camaro has more Corvette styling than anything. From the back end to the body lines. I've never heard of anyone calling the Camaro a Cruze coupe unlike the Mustang (Fusion coupe) lol.

It's called corporate styling when a car maker's entire fleet has a similar grill and face. It's the same reason all Fords look like an Aston Martin knock off. Also: I totally get that Audi, BMW, or other brands use this tactic and people have grown to expect and even enjoy this, but when you're talking about a brand like Chevy where some of their cars are dirt cheap econoboxes, I don't like having that sort of visual association that it's all from the same product family. I'm in the camp that also thinks the center of a Camaro's grill should have an RS or SS logo and no bowtie.

The 5th gen Camaro did not follow this convention and stood out a lot more compared to Chevy's other vehicles at the time, which I highly prefer.

Er... funny you mention that. The other night, I was driving in the dark and saw what I thought were 6th gen Camaro headlights coming at me from the other direction...

Honestly, this messes with my head. I still need to do a double take when identifying a 6th vs 5th gen. The one thing I could rely on was the headlamp design, and now I can't even use this since the Cruze has an 80% similar design.

I think only the loaded ones come with those lights and that is a smaller percentage

Yeah, I am always getting those two confused!
