The weight difference between the auto trans and manual trans seems off a bit on most models.

Yeah. I don't see why the auto ZL1 is 61 lbs heavier than the manual in coupe form, and only 35 heavier in the convertible. Most other models show differences as well. Something just doesn't jive.

The weight difference *may* have something to do with the coupe having elsd whereas the convertible does not. I do know that the elsd is heavier, but worth its weight...

I do remember reading that the convertible doesn't get the elsd for some reason, but that still wouldn't be it, because I'm sure the manual and auto convertible both have the same diff just like both coupes have the elsd.
Maybe the coupes were equipped differently. Maybe the auto had a sunroof and the manual car didn't. Maybe that's why the weight difference seemed off on the other models as well. If that's the case, they should've had similarly equipped cars, and maybe even listed the coupes with and without a sunroof. Hopefully we'll get some clarification on it all at some point.
I was actually planning to order a coupe without the sunroof to mainly save weight, but I also like the shape of the roof better without it....and it doesn't hurt that I would be saving $900 in the process. I am going to get the A10, so it would be nice to know exactly how much heavier the auto is for sure. Is it 61 lbs heavier or 35 lbs?

Wow, there is an 800 pound weight difference between a 2.0T coupe and a ZL1 convertible. I don't think I've ever seen a model of a car with such a huge range of weight between models.

Yes...that would be nice! I'm still happy with the 200 or so they've managed to get out of them.

Very few car models have such a range of powertrains and performance!

But I'll bet your G8 didn't have 650hp!!

Getting this car lighter is impossible without moving to some serious usage of Carbon Fiber or Aluminum in the frame structure. And at that point you're talking serious $$$

Find another 2+2 coupe with 650hp...and I'll bet you won't find one weighing much different, or if you do....it'll be 2x, 3x the price

EDIT: I am also curious why the automatic seems to weigh "less" in convertibles. Hmmm...
