Engine power reduced!! Voteless throttle controller

So I have had the viteese throttle controller on my car for about 3-4 months now. Loves it and had zero issues until last night. Got off of work and started my car and the display screen says engine power reduced, the engine light came on and the throttle would not go over 3000RPM. Just wanted to give all of you a heads up that it may possibly happen to you if you have the controller installed. To fix it I just removed the throttle controller and then disconnected the main negative terminal for 30 min and then connected the terminal back. It's back to normal and the engine light is gone.

Aftermarket gizmos on today's high tech cars is just a little questionable.

I wonder if you can somehow put the car into "power reduced mode" on purpose. You can use it as valet mode.

Is there any reason to believe the throttle controller had anything to do with the fault?

Yup this can happen with the controller. I haven't had issues, but if setup goes wrong or maybe a power blip in the car throws it off, it can cause limp mode. Most people with the controller have issues upfront with a rushed setup job, this is the first I am hearing of issues beyond setup.

Mine has been going strong for 9 months now on this car. No issues yet.

Seems like he used scientific methods to come to his conclusions.

seems to me not alot of science needed to come to a rational conclusion here

Yeah, but he also disconnected the battery for 30 minutes. So how do we know that alone would not have worked without removing the controller?

Exactly, for all we know simply turning the car off and back on would have also made the issue go away at least for now.

a lot of people complained of this on the 5th gen also. removing the throttle controller fixed it for them. its the only thing that has stopped me from ordering one as I know if it can go wrong .... it will happen to me

Clearly you are a scientist as well. I stand corrected.
