so the video recording option...I saw it records to an SD card that you just plug in a slot (like a computer), so that's easy to use. but ...where is the camera mounted on the car? is it in the grill behind the flow-tie? and I assume it pulls data from the O port for MPH RPM etc.

Mounted in front of your rear view mirror and yes pulls data from your system

Hmm, will this cause issues if you want to mount/hard-wire a radar detector?

no front plate and maybe a carbon fiber spoiler, would be my modifications to my picture above.

or can the spoiler be wrapped to look like the carbon fiber hood?

I was thinking the same thing about the mounted radar detector. I love mine mounted to the mirror now

Nice. Considering I bought my Z06 at $109k, I'm feeling a bit.....well.....whatever. I still have the Z06, but a Zl1 for $66k? No brainer. People should be gobbling these things up. I'll admit this, the Z06/7 is NOT $40k more worth than the Zl1. But, moving on. I'll sit and let ya'll have all the fun buying these up.

I put one together (Vert) and came up with $72,595. But no PDR on the Convertible. I got impatient and quit waiting when the 16Zs went 20% off. Got my $106,200 Z06 for $86,200 and there the 3LT includes the PDR even on a convertible. So the bad news is I won't be ordering a ZL1 but the good news is that I got a Z06 likely for what an early ZL1 would cost if I assume a $10k Dealer Pack.

Maybe the Z28 will bring me back into a Camaro but that is a year away and then we have the ZR1 and the Zora to consider. What a great time to be a Chevy lover! Heck it is a good time to be a Ford lover also.

Is there an option choice in the ZL1 regarding engine muffler noise like in the Z06?

Yes there is. It has stealth, sport, and track settings. I think that's what they call them. Not much difference between sport and track, but stealth is much more quiet.
