Hydro-dipped - trunk rear light covers
My first foray into the world of hydro-dipping.
Went with a dipmykit 2.5meters of silver and clear carbon fiber - black base coat. I plan to do a couple of the trim pieces in the cabin of the car in this pattern when i add my uberSpectrum lighting. Not sure if i'll use it in the engine bay or a different pattern. ....anyways... Had to wet sand the bejesus out of the pieces to remove the texture significantly before applying the pattern. This meant I had to buy more black base coat and I picked up more clear too because what you're given is not enough. Below are a couple pics of the pieces drying after their initial rinse. No clear applied yet. ![]()

Just a big cheap plastic container from Walmart. Had it in my bath tub for easy draining and filling since I don't have a yard.
Anything bigger than those pieces though and I'd probably just use the tub directly. |

This is prior to wet-sanding. Figured I'd let it finish curing on the car to get an idea of what it will look like then I'll wetsand and finish it up this weekend.
