Cool or dumb a** idea - exhaust mod

Looking for a cheap easy way to add some volume to the NPP system I came up with the idea of adding a pair of Flowmaster Outlaw mufflers just before the NPP suitcase muffler. The shorty version of the Outlaw muffler is 6.5 inches long. Not sure if it will fit where I want it to go, hopefully it will. Obviously this won't be as loud as the full Outlaw system but it should add some loudness and tone to the NPP system, especially when in track mode. See the attached pic to show where I'm thinking of mounting the Outlaw muffler.

So waste of time and money or could it possibly work?

Yeah, adding extra mufflers will make the car quieter, not louder.

In track mode NPP is essentially an open exhaust is it not or am I wrong?

No, although a second straighter path opens, not all of the gas will go straight out of that one opening so some of gas and noise waves will still be muffled to an extent.

Flow rate wise it should be pretty close, but noise wise the muffler will still have an effect.

See the videos of the qtp cutouts to see what a proper open exhaust sounds like.

The easiest way to make the NPP sound a little louder would probably be secodary cat delete.

If you want some extra volume, put some electronic cut outs back there or even better yet , get them about a foot-18 inches behind the 02 sensor.

Keep the NPP it's an excellent system. In sport it's pretty loud already don't you think? If you need more sound, Long Tubes will do the trick

This is what I'm going to do. Cut the NPP system out and install Flowmaster Outlaw mufflers and custom quad tips.

I did a similar setup with Flowmaster Super 10's but I took the suitcase out.

Looks and sounds good! I'd go with the Outlaw shorty muffler as it's a little louder and deeper tone.

Thanks man.. I talked to Flowmasters and a few different shops.. the Super 10's is deeper and the Outlaws is louder. My exhaust shop actually put them both on before welding and I went with super 10s because it's a tad deeper, muscular tone.

Have them put both on too lol

Can't go wrong with either
