Can I ask where you got them? I am looking at a set from Harbor Freight, but can't judge if they are too steep for the front splitter. I just need them to do oil changes.

Thanks Glen. Just saw these RhinoRamps at K-Mart tonight for $49.99. I temporarily passed because HF has the Magnum 16000's for $39.99 and I think I can use the 20% off any one item coupon. I wanted to verify the min height to clear the splitter first before I bought them.

Also, after looking at a handful of reviews and pictures on Amazon, the RhinoRamps seem to collapse after 2-10 uses. I know you said you're a year in with them, but those pictures look dangerous. I'm sure the metal ones can bow and bend and be unsafe as well.

Why did you take off the flap (I assume you're referring to the piece that hangs lower than the splitter)? Isn't that there to protect the undercarriage from some dirt, as well as push air flow away from the undercarriage as well?

race ramps 40 is an excellent all-around ramp. It's solid. it's super light. It's anti-slip. It has handles and it stands up nicely against the wall taking up a minimal amount of area.

But that's not why I posted. Take a look at these guys. Hydro-dipping FTW.
These are the first pieces i've ever done. I think they came out pretty good.

Just after rinse - no clear on yet.

I hate the flaps, I don't like the way they look, Ive taken them off every car I've ever owned , I've never had any problems with airflow or dirt.

Looks great

Hey MGD, that looks great. Is the console lid more padded than original? I had a DSW lid in a '11 vette and it was more padded and comfortable.

dipmykit. However, they dont give you nearly enough primer and base coat and clear coat to deal with parts you need to wet-sand.

Luckily, those things can be purchased cheaply locally.

This is the Silver and clear CF pattern. Black base coat. It looks awesome in person.

Ramps vs. Jack and Stands

Something to remember about changing oil on ramps is that you may not get all of the old oil out when your car is not level. I don't know much about drain pan design, so maybe it accommodates for a slight angle... but if you want to be sure, you should jack the car up level.

I use this jack: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

With the ZL1 jack pad + 6th gen magpuck: https://zl1addons.com/collections/ja...nt=27712440001

And 4 jackstands (No link because I've had them since I was a kid)

There's a pinchweld jack point about a foot or two from the front wheels, and then there's a good pinchweld jackstand location between the jack point and the front wheels, and also right in front of the rear wheels. The car is so stiff that you can jack each side only once. Just be careful when lowering the car onto the jack stands because the pinchwelds can bend (so I'm told - I haven't done it yet in the few times I've lifted the car)

...But most importantly, you can make you car do magic... O.o

Yep, it has a quarter inch padding sown in. Feels good.

Drain bolt for the V-6 is at the rear corner of the pan, no problem using ramps.
