One might also wonder if you edited the original post or if he did. Congratulations Chevy! Being the first time in 23 months, I'm sure they felt very good about it. You could say they still have nothing to feel great about since they're not selling 10,000 a month, but 6500 is a solid gold and after all this time with the Camaro being back on the market, hopefully they can stay in that range. Major incentives have done some good and it is a little surprising better incentives haven't done as well for the 1500 pickup segment. Let's just hope GM pays close attention and at least considered pricing the Camaro a couple thousand lower. I think that would keep them entirely competitive as far as sales figures and that would make production less expensive overall. Win win situation?? Seems like it, but I'm no GM bean counter. |

...Just a thought as far as sales....If the model years are exactly the same, with no up-grades or visible differences in looks or performance, why not get an "older" Camaro for a lot less money?....
...Even with the '17s...if the '18s are another carbon copy, like 16-17, I'd wait for a better deal later on a '17 Camaro....Until they come up with a re-fresh, or something different, there's a lot of money to be saved by waiting.... |

I don't know the exact numbers, but I did just read the October 2016 Camaro sales were up 14% over October 2015 Camaro sales.
The industry as a whole was down last month, some by a lot...GM was actually in the best shape. |

Mustang US Sales are down to 5414 for October.
Note that in September when Mustang fell sharply in the US, European sales jumped to 1311 vs. 81 Camaros. 5th best month for Mustang in Europe. Still don't have real numbers for Auz and China but likely at least 2000. |

Yea but remember the Gen 6s are now in full swing, the 2017s are out and of course the 50 year editions are out now. It was the same when the Ford released the new S550 mustangs that pumped their sales up. It's to be expected in that initial release. The numbers are not far off from each other with Ford and Chevy. GM/Chevy will do fine as long as they don't plan to stop production of the Camaro.
