Newbie tire questions for the gear heads

So I'm sure you will give me 3000 links to posts about this but I would love some real answers from people who have actually done tire and wheel swaps... So without further ado...

I desperately need more traction for both street and track. I am torn between options A. replacing the stock tires with some 273/35r20 Nitto NT05 tires. I know they aren't ideal for rain but I really need more grip B. Replacing the stock tire with 285/30r20 Nitto Invia or MT Street Comp C. Keep stock tires and buy 17 race craft rear wheels and drag radials.

My mods include a Green Filter Drop in replacement and Muffler Delete.

I would love any feedback or other options for getting more traction especially on the track.

Also would running a 35 series in the rear mess with the cars traction control as the height would be slightly higher than stock settings on a 30 series.
Thanks guys!

I tracked a set of NT05's last season. A total of 16 20 minute sessions at Daytona, Sebring and Palm Beach.

You say 'track'. Do you mean road course, drag strip?

Pros:
Relatively cheap
Decent dry traction
Wear is good for a 200TW
Quiet enough for a daily

Cons:
Not as sticky as other 200TW tires (i.e., RE-71R, RS-3, Rival)
They get greasy when hot

Overall, I would buy another set for the $.

Let me clarify as they would be for the drag strip once a month type deal... Im sort of leaning to keep the stock wheels and just roll with a new street/ strip tire. Im not entirely familiar with the other tires you had mentioned could you elaborate to brand?

My overall end goal is to be in the 11's at the track and retain stock warranty if this info matters.

I have a problem. I have three sets of tires/wheels.

A Daily set (Mich Pilot Super Sports)

A AutoX set (Bridgestone RE-71R)

A track set (Nitto NT05)

Do you want one tire that can do double duty? Or are you willing to swap (at least the rear) for the strip?

I have 0 experience drag racing. So hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in with a recommendation for a drag radial.

The tires I had mentioned in my original post are some of the best well-known hybrid street/track tires:

Bridgestone RE-71R (arguably the best 200TW tire on the market)
Hankook RS-3
BFGoodrich Rival/Rival S

Their is no middle ground.

Buy a street tire for the street and a track tire for the strip.

Trying to accomplish both with the same tire will leave you unsatisfied.

The Re-71R is a track tire the NT05/R is what you would need for the strip. I would recommend a rear pair with DR for the strip to help you out.

Thank you for the advice! I am desperately trying to find my baby some more traction. Even with just meffler delete and a green filter i can feel this car has more power than stock as i never used to spin in 2nd gear on a roll... im thinking im gonna run the nt05 as they seem like the tire for what i was looking for!
