I'll try to make a short "cold start" comparison video between stealth vs sport today or tomorrow for anyone who is interested in hearing the difference in sound. |

I just had someone start it and watched the valve. By the time the starter turns the engine over, The valve closes before the engine fires. The valve wins the race
This was with the exhaust set to stealth in the setting mode prior to shutting the car off...not snow/ice |

I can confirm... quiet cold start this morning! (Drive mode was in Sport when engine was shut off) 1) press and hold start button (with no feet on pedals) for about 5 seconds until "service mode" turns on (everything turns on as if the engine was running) 2) switch drive mode to snow/ice 3) foot on brake, start engine... nice and quiet |

So that means you at least have your Exhaust setting following the Mode switch. I did the exact same thing as you but instead went through the menu and select "Sound Management" and picked "Stealth". It fired up loud as though it was still in Track mode. Maybe there's a glitch that the exhaust sound has to be mapped to the switch in order to get a quiet startup. I'll have to try that. |

A bit late, but here is the cold start comparison between Sport mode (valves open) vs. Ice/Snow mode (valves closed). Both Videos were recorded on different mornings. Mods are Roto-Fab CAI and Borla x-pipe with secondary cat delete to stock NPP muffler. I'm sure a stock Camaro will be much quieter.

Lately I've had my npp fuse pulled and love the sound of the valve open all the time but would be nice to start up on quiet on those super early mornings I have to do once in while. |

I had my fuse pulled, but after a while I couldn't stand the drone it would make under 2k rpms especially in 6th gear (M6), so I put it back in. The computer closes the exhaust values to silence the drone. Also, since the cat delete and roto-fab CAI boosted my exhaust's sound levels, it's more convenient to control everything from the switch by switching to different modes when needed.
