I can't get android auto to work whatsoever with my Samsung Galaxy S7. I have tried all the suggestions online. I was wondering if someone out there knows the fix with our Camaros.

I have the S7 Edge and it works flawlessly. You may need dealer to update your system especially if you drive a 2016.

also, it has to be connected through USB, no BT (yet). And still no Waze. . .

It's a 2016. I assume I need to take it to dealer for that? Are you having to go into the developer options and change it to MTP and all that?

if you have NOT gone to the dealer to have the radio updated, then NOTHING you try will work.

Step 1 - take car to dealer, have it flashed for the android auto update.

Note- it does not matter that you just bought the car. They do NOT take every car/truck in and update the computers in them.

Did anyone mention taking it to the dealer for Android Auto update? lol j/k.
I had to, even though my car was built in April and Android Auto was released in March.

Oh, and try using the factory USB cable that came with the phone. I've heard that helped a lot of peeps.

Some say that you have to turn on USB debugging mode and change the USB setting to MTP mode each time before you plug it in.. because S7 is funky that way with AA.

Make sure you turn on Bluetooth before you plug in the USB cable. ... I get a pop up on the car display to connect the phone and my only 2 options are switch or cancel. Pick switch and it should go. If not click on usb optionsin the status bar and pick the 3rd option (I think it says midi). 1 of those 2 usually gets more going

I also had to get a new usb cable because mine didn't work... I got two off of amazon for 6 bucks (amazon basics brand)

I use Waze with my S7... Just open the app, plug in the phone, let AA take over your screen, then utilize your lower left button to pop up your screen tasking, scroll to select WAZE and Presto! Then choose your route with the app, set your phone aside or in your car mount, and let it do its thing.

It does NOT project onto your screen, (hopefully WAZE/Google Maps merge update does this), but it will use your speakers to report either your sounds , alerts or both.
