The perforations and venting are basically a built-in resonator to reduce/eliminate drone. I personally think it's a great design!

I'm not saying it's a poor design but I don't like quiet lol. Also I found out that we all lose .5 inch on the exhaust where it goes over the axle in the rear. I can actually get this modded to full 3 inch at Aldo welds in Houston. Now we are talking. With the suitcase gone and the full 3 inch exhaust it should wake it up a bit sound wise. I am running long tube headers too without cats so hopefully I get the growl I want without being obnoxious

Its a mirror image.....

It basically is like running a straight pipe with the valve open. The perforations allow the resonances to be absorbed in that big suitcase of a muffler. With valves closed they gasses are pushed through perforations and through slots into the big chambers and out the other pipes. Very quiet.
