Yup! I agree with you. I have used them more as system shortcuts vs. I go there all the time, so let me save the location. You are essentially saving the destination. Not necessarily the route. My steps in previous post were just the simplest way I found to do it, and happen to involve letting a route load. I'm sure someone else can chime in on how to do it a different way. Examples of how I have used preset locations:
1. On a road trip to an unfamiliar place, I saved a few destinations prior to leaving for my trip. I was then able to just pull up them up from the presets while driving. After my trip, I deleted those destinations from the presets.
2. I've used a known destination which I had saved as a preset as my "North Star," if you will. With it, I can quickly orient myself after I've been out driving around backroads aimlessly for a couple of hours. Because while the GPS will display my current location, it means nothing to me if I don't know the area.

You are aware you can save any channel including Sirius. And I have not filled mine up yet but you have at least 30. swipe up for 15 then right for more. You can also go be on any FM channel then go into browse and it will list every channel you can pick up. helps when you travel.

Huh my infotainment system doesn't have that Wifi 4G icon on the top left.

Icon is only on MY17 cars. 16s don't have it.

Was mentioned on another thread that the icons show up on 16' as well, but I'll confirm once I get my car back from dealer, got some issues trying to get resolved & told them to update my 16' to Android Auto, which will install the newest FW.

Yes, I was first week of '17 model production.

I am likely going to add the car to a new AT&T account (Leaving Verizon soon). Looks like it will $10 /mo to add to AT&T account. Turns out we have used the Wi-fi in the car more than I thought we would. Nice for my Microsoft Surface and more.

TBH, I don't remember how to do it. My sales guy walked me through it as part of the delivery / orientation process. I have my wife on speed dial in my car though. One tap to call her.

I'm sure it's in the manual...

My cars in storage so I'm going off of memory
1. Go to the phone icon and open
2. Dial a phone #
3. Touch the bottom of the radio screen and drag up to show your favorites
4. Find an open favorite spot and push and hold similar to saving a radio station
