Resetting the car's computer

Does anyone know the right way to reset the car's computer?

I read many things such as...

1.) Disconnect the negative battery terminal and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before reconnecting.

2.) Disconnect both positive and negative terminals and touch them together for 10 seconds to drain voltage.

3.) Disconnect the negative battery wire and hold the break pedal down for about 30 seconds to drain voltage.

I'm trying to reset the computer so it can relearn my driving habits. Is there an easier way to do this?

Thanks!

Number one or number two will do it

I removed that small cover from the trunk and it seems like the negative terminal is in plain sight but to get to the positive wire I think that whole side would need to be removed. A guy at the dealership mentioned the battery option but I wanted to make sure before I broke my car.

I also own a 2007 Dodge Charger and with my Diablosports tuner it was really easy to reset the car's driving habits.

Is it necessary to let the car idle for about 10 or 20 minutes after doing so?

No, just drive, forget about it, think about something else, get started on your next mod…

Frankly it's a waste of time for me, I never see any radical difference of doing it or not doing it… But we certainly all love to tweak things…

Ok, so I had my negative battery terminal disconnected for several hours and when I reconnected it my radio was set to an 88.something but all my station favorites were still there. Did the computer still reset successfully?

Yes ...when you disconnect the battery you only lose window indexing and hud settings. Everything else stays.....

Is this an automatic thing due to adaptive learning or something?
