ZL1 ADM

I'm curious to see what everyone thinks on whether the majority of Dealerships will try to charge Markups, and if so how much, when the A10 comes out in the Spring, especially after the Nurburgring video GM posted. Some people on other forums think that there could be $20k markups, which seems doubtful except for possibly some California Dealerships. So, what does everyone think? I apologize if there's another thread on this, and if so, please delete this thread.

Very few should pay any mark up. it almost feels as if the zl1 will be yesterday's news before A10's get to customers. Have a feeling Chevy will be the cheap choice and remain the under dog that is under powered compared to its competition.

I am getting supplier pricing on top of whatever discounts may be available just like I got on my Gen 5. I paid somewhere close to 3 grand below MSRP for it in January 2013. It's nothing to see Chevy offer $500 to $1000 off of new Camaros. Always a gimmick to keep them at the top of sales in the segment and I'm all for it.

None of the dealers around here are "attempting" to charge a mark up on a ZL1 anymore, I just saw a third customer take their deposit back when I went to visit my dealership 3 days ago. The inventory manager was worried I was there to do the same (lol), but I was checking in to see if there was any news on their end. It appears people are not willing to wait half a year of their life to buy a car and have gone in a different direction. I don't blame them. Life is short and who really knows where any of us will be in 6 months or so....or when the A10 will actually arrive in someone's home garage...

...some other company will be developing an A12 by the time GM releases the A10...lol....

That's good to hear. It seems as though any time that I see high ADM's its usually from California. I think that since GM didn't label this car as being limited production and the fact that it doesn't have over 700 HP, like the Hellcat, we will see few ADM's. In reality, it should be the better performing car VS the Hellcat or GT350R without the ADM's.

Yep, it's not a limited edition, they'll build as many as the people want.

I spoke to a couple dealers and they said they will be selling it at MSRP. I will put it to them, then what incentive are you offering for me to buy it from you vs your competitor down the road?

Yes, prices can get really wierd out here depending what is "trendy" or thought to be. '16 Hellcats have discounts going right now here...and GT350s are +$10-15K still. The only GT350R I found nearby was $150K, so quite a mark up on those...not sure who going to buy it, but alot of people have way too much money, so someone eventually will I guess.

Interestingly enough, there are folks who will pay almost anything just to say they have something rare, or exclusive, or simply something new. I used to work for a dodge stealership and they sold this guy a 2015 hellcat challenger in October for $76k. So it was a model year old, well past the wow factor and they were still able to pinch him for every penny. ZL1s never seemed to be that hard to come by though. I was the first one to buy from my dealership and I got it at MSRP only to find that 6 months later they had 2 13's with the exact same options and in the exact same color going for about $5k less. The 5th gen luster faded quickly and lots of those cars ended up back on lots within a few months. While we know the new ZL1 is far ahead of its predecessor in terms of performance and technology, the ZL1 still doesn't carry enough wait to make people see past the CAMARO nameplate. It's still just a camaro to most folks and as such it doesn't garner the appeal commensurate to its performance. This is a good thing for most of us as it will keep the prices right where we want them and if people do as they did with the last gen, there will be plenty slightly used or under msrp cars to go around.

You think we will see 20k rebates if the cars do not sell like we have seen for the 2016's???

ADM or just an incorrectly listed price?
