If you're going to track it, the matte wrap actually does reduce/ eliminate glare off the hood. Not a huge deal but it's nice to not have the added distraction.

That's honestly the first I have ever heard that. I've never noticed an issue on the track before, but I could see where that logic is coming from.

There should be no issue with you removing the wrap but I would recommend that you leave it on at first and see if it grows on you and then take it off if it bothers you down the road. You are in a hard water area so it will take some extra care to make it look good but if you follow my recommendations it shouldn't be too difficult. (assuming you are the one who is going to be maintaining your cars appearance and not taking it to a car wash etc) At the very least it will protect the hood underneath from rock chips.

Or better yet next time you're out and about on the street notice the glare off your shiny paint all around your hood in the right conditions and how there is zero glare on the hood. I'm not at all saying it's a necessity though. Mostly it looks bad ass

Yes, we have terribly hard water, but I have a whole house softening system that includes my front water spigot.
This will be my 1st Chemical Guys product. I use a lot of Adams stuff and generally like them. The one product I think is rubbish is their VRT. They desperately need to reformulate it.

On a side note do not be afraid to branch out to other brands of detailing products. There are some very excellent ones out there. I really love the Adams detail spray and use it exclusively even though it is more expensive, but haven't found the rest of their lineup to be up to par. Blackfire sealants and waxes are excellent, Optimum no rinse is fantastic for rinseless or waterless wash as well as clay lube. Carpro has some unbelievable specialty products like "Spotless" water spot remover, Iron-X for paint decontamination, Pearl tire dressing and their Hydro2 sealant is my new favorite. Meguiars Professional line is unbeatable if you're on a budget with their concentrate gallon sizes, like D120 glass cleaner that dilutes to make 11 friggin gallons of cleaner you will never run out! Chemical Guys Meticulous Matte Detailer that we have already discussed here is top notch but they also have Citrus Wash and Gloss that is a great wax stripper and can be used as a passable wheel cleaner, and their HoneyDew Snow foam is great to use in a foam cannon/lance to soap up your car before washing. I better stop before I go through my entire chemical cabinet though.

VERY WELL SAID....… I pretty much have the same opinions about the products you mentioned, NO manufacturer has got it together all across the board. Blackfire makes some duds, as well as Adams, Meguires and Carpro. That's why I hate buying "kits' from the manufacturers…Once you start frequenting the detailing sites, you find that out.

Does anyone know who manufactures the wrap for the 1LE? I'm looking for part # so I can wrap rocker panels and rear valence to match the hood or anything else that I want on the car.
