Unkown loose foam part??

Hey guys,
I was cleaning the passenger's side footwell mat, and when I went to take out the mat I saw this foamy rectangular shaped thing with a groove laying just underneath the seat. It has a sticky tape on the one side of it... Does anyone know where it's from, and what it's for??

Please let me know.

Thanks

Lol, I found that in my car to. I wonder if it was a spacer they used on the assembly line or something.

It's a door protector that gets put on the exterior of car doors during transportation and are often left on during time on the lot.

Source- I work for a large GM dealer.

Not always the dealers fault, but yes, you can throw it away.
