3.9 0-60 in a M6, what's everyone getting?

So I've had the car for 6 months, I just started using the timers yesterday. At first (in competition mode) I tried launching at 2600-2800rpm, I let the clutch out and the car would bog down, spin a little, then take off. I did this a good 5-6 times with the same result each time. Each time had a crappy take off and only got 4.6-4.8 second 0-60's.

I've known about the launch control, but been too chicken to actually floor it with the clutch in. However I recently read where if you don't "pop" the clutch put rather smoothly let out of it, that it doesn't actually do any type of torque management. So I sucked it up and tried that today. The engine stabled out around 4200-4400rpm and I quickly but smoothly let out the clutch. The car took off like I've been wanting it too, no bog, yes it spun but still launch great. My first run was 4.1sec. This was on a country back road (not the greatest pavement), no burn out and on tires that had only been driven a mile to get to this spot. I repeated this process another 3 times and got 4.0, 3.9, 3.9. Again all on this country back road. I was pretty impressed by it and seriously believe that on a prepped track it could see 3.7, add DRs and maybe 3.5-3.6.

My car is not 100% stock, I do have a 3" cat back exhaust system, but I wouldn't figure that would do much if really anything.

You need to talk to a guy named Ender. He got some great 0 to 60 times.

Yeah I've seen his, I believe he's got around 3.8-3.7, but he's also swapped to wider tires in the back. Something I would like to do but any wheels I like are more expensive than I can justify right now.

This launch control "trick" works wonders. To bad the magazine testers don't use it...

So I'm sure I catch some crap for this, but I scrolled around in all the performance pages in the car and every other setting I thought made sense and couldn't find launch control anywhere. I originally thought the launch control was only for the autos but now I see people with the M6 have it as well. My question is where is it and how do I use it with my 6 speed? Thanks all.

Put it in sport or track and turn on competition mode...then you can access it.

It's not available quick select by default. Toggle down to settings. You will see where it says 6 of 7 pages. Toggle to right. Click performance. Select performance timer.

These people with their claimed amazing times need to get a vbox. The actual timer in the car is shit. Vbox will be accurate.

Isn't this always how your suppose to launch a car? by slipping the clutch quickly?

Which begs the question......does anyone have a "VBox" 0-60 time on an SS?? Me, I am still trying to get my car below 5.0 seconds 0-60 up here a "Mile High." Has anyone else at high altitude been able to break 5 seconds?
