Put a deposit down on 14 OCT for a base NGM w/o PDR. This will not only be the first Camaro, but the first Chevy I have ever owned. Pretty excited! Not expecting a car for months, though...

How do the regular options work? I didn't order black bowties, but I now realize that I want them. Is this something I can add later on?

I got my build week today! 11/14, a week later than I was expecting, but to have a date is a step in the right direction. Still at 3000 status. This is starting to get exciting!

All LPO options (dealer add ons) can be added later on, or even after you take delivery. Many times you can find these cheaper elsewhere.

Congrats...

If they have a QC hold, I don't think it will matter what your build date is, as they may all ship at the same time. This week is the first week (only PDR cars), so I guess how slowly or quickly they ship will let us know how our cars should be...

You very well may be correct. I am hoping I am at the end of the CC delay and it might not slow me down much. I also don't mind engineers going over the cars with a fine tooth comb.

I just checked with Chevy chat and am still at a TPW of 10/17 and car is not built yet. I kinda hope my car isn't built today anyway. You know Monday cars and all......LOL!!!

Congrats, I don't know...I mean you have an early SS 1LE build, which everyone seemed to make like would be held in QC for a while. Not sure if that status means it has "passed" or is in limbo though. If it is passed that point already, that is good for the rest of us as it seems the QC wouldn't be all that involved as once thought...just speculation though.

OK, thanks. Becky said it's going to the other lot where I'm assuming it's Commerce, MI where the Camaro's are parked before the trucks pick them up and deliver to the dealerships. I'll keep everyone posted.

Keep in mind that after they are built, they go to a different location where the hood wrap is installed. This will add some time from build finish to actual shipping. I'm sure there will still be a QC hold as well. The QC hold could happen before or after shipment. On our first 2016 Camaros, the cars were shipped and then were held at the rail yard for QC for over a month. Hopefully that won't happen with the 1LEs but you should be prepared in case it does.

I was also able to order another 1LE today that I didn't have allocation for. If you know how to work the order system, you can sometimes order vehicles that you didn't have an allocation for. Some dealers turn down allocations and those allocations can be picked up by other dealers that know how to work the system. This is how I've been able to order 4 unallocated 1LEs for our store.

So am I correct in remembering something about using the Vin# and onstar to track the exact location of the car while its either bayed or being shipped?
