LOL........2000 bucks ...Everything out here in the left coast is too damn expensive even breathing the air now!

I so badly wanted this mod too.....I have cutouts already from my last vehicle but they're not designed for the six gen so I'm screwed! I guess this mod will have to wait another year but is it really worth it since I already have the NPP?
It looks as if it only takes about two to three hours to install, that is crazy. I ended up ordering them from QTP earlier today for a great price. 400 shipped with military discount. I also ordered the wireless controller for 86 bucks. Hoping to have it all installed for around 275 dollars.

My go to exhaust shop quoted me $300 to install. They said they've done these before on other cars and have had issues. I want to do it but I may hold off awhile.

Noweeds will be louder and more durable than cutouts, year round use is no issue for me. Self install for free with basic tools. Half way open simmilar to cutouts eliminates drone at all speeds. Just fyi unless you plan on tuning mounting any type of diverter or cutout in place of secondaries will throw codes.

If you are throwing a code after removing the secondary cats, you have an exhaust leak. Putting cutouts on should not throw a code if done right.

Great thread. To the op. How bad is the drone when open and open halfway? Also, do you guys worry about the heat under there when open and idling/stopped.

Ive done this mod to my m3, and its awesome. Btw, Ive used three different vendors (race ready blows, jegs are great but jingle) of cutouts in the last 8 years and none have been as reliable and vibration/tingle free as the qtp. They are the best. Google "bates valvetronic exhaust" for my m3 mod. Ill be doing this on my camaro.. when I get it lol.

I think he means if you pull the second cats out and replace with cut outs, you will throw a code. So if I understand this right, no tune will be needed if keep second cats and put cutouts after them. I don't want to tune, yet, but want cutouts.

Yep which is exactly why I posted that. Those cats are unmonitored. Unless there is a leak, there should be nothing to trigger an emissions alarm.

So is there enough space to put cutouts after the second cats? I think that's what the QTP image shows.

Yea the aggressor kit goes on just before the muffler and after the 2nd cats. But there should be no problem cutting out the 2nd cats and installing them there either. There are plenty of people who have deleted the 2nd cats altogether with no issues. Some have thrown codes but these were traced back to leaks when the straight pipes were put in.

For those of us in areas with emissions testing where a VISUAL inspection is part of the test: Will cutouts either after the secondary cats or in place of the secondary cats be an issue?

If they actually know what they are looking for, a visual will fail if you have the cutouts where the 2nd cats should be. After is no problem at all.

Usually your best bets are the quick change places where the techs are barely educated or just don't care.

Cutouts in place of secondary cats will act like a leak and most likely throw a code. you will want to put them further down and absolutely anyone who has looked at your exhaust will know right away that you have modified it.
