Anyone unsatisfied with the limited SS A/S Tire Options?

First, let me just say I realize that in an ideal world this thing would just sit in the garage or have a set of winter wheels and tires for the cold months. That said, one is not an option and the other is something I'm just not interested in.

Unfortunately though, it seems the A/S options available on tire rack are limiting - only 5 that I can see. Is anyone finding other options that fit the stock rim sizes for the front and rear?

I really would love the Pilot Sport A/S 3+'s, and it kind of burns my ass that they make these in the rear size but not the front. Any guesses as to why they would make a 245/45ZR20 but not a 245/40ZR20 as well? I see they make a 245/40ZR19, which just feels like taunting.
Assuming Michelin won't produce these in a size that fit the front any time soon (or ever) - does anyone have any recommendations for other A/S tires?

I just switched over to the Continental DSW06 A/S. They are quieter, longer tread life and a little beefier.

I'm running 255/35 front and 285/30 rears.

Went BFG Comp 2 A\S myself. The Ride is so much better. First frosty night yesterday and no traction issues.

Doesn't have to be exact OEM sizes.

I just ordered a set of BFG Comp-2 A/S too. Tire Rack had them for $806 shipped, but I found them at TireCrawler.com for $686 shipped. Hope they actually ship them!

Please excuse my ignorance on this.

What sizes could I get away with and still use the stock rims? And not have any odometer or speedometer issues too.

Like H(.)(.)ters (lol, that name) above, I went with the Continentals as well and I couldn't be happier with them. Good traction and I'm hoping to see a lot of miles out of them. It's been down to 30 degrees now and I've had normal traction. In the rain traction is good as well. I've been able to accelerate quickly, while losing some traction, my car has never felt unsafe in slick conditions.

I will be running a dedicated winter setup however. As good as these tires are, they can only do so much in the wicked winters we get here in ND. I'd rather be on the safest rubber than gamble with an A/S tire.

There are several discount tire web sites like TIRERACK.COM that can provide details about tire brands, sizes, and specs (see picture below). The stock tires on your SS are 245/40ZR20 front and 275/35ZR20 rear. The front rims are 8.5" and rear rims are 9.5". Rear tire diameter is 27.6".

You are looking for tires that can fit the stock rim size and are approximately the same diameter. If you have trouble finding a match on your own most of the tire suppliers have Chat options or phone numbers where you can talk to a representative that can help you find what you want.

Good luck!

There are a bunch of sites which can do the diameter calculations for you. I like www.willtheyfit.com.

The Continental DWS06 tire is very good, I've driven them in snow pretty darn deep on a RWD vehicle with good results, and they make them for the stock SS size wheels.

I like this site for tire size comparisons:

http://ejelta.com/tiresize/

I usually check both TireRack and TireBuyer when I'm looking for sizes.

Car looks good! Is it lowered or stock height?

Thanks! It's the stock height. Tires have been great so far. We'll see how they fare this winter. Good thing I have a Jeep as backup. LOL
