Issue on A/F with CAI
Hello
I have 2016 Camaro SS, A8 trim. I got CAI from Mishimoto and have some issue on A/F ratio. The lowest one is stock and the middle one is with Corsa Exhaust, then I attached CAI and run a dyno. I am wondering why the A/F ration goes up like that? I assume the suction is the stronger, so more air going in, but as considering it, it is too much. Isn't it too lean? My mapper said it is little bit lean , but it is OK. not gonna be a problem. How do you guys think? Last edited by shinysun; 10-07-2016 at 08:05 AM. |

You need to get a scan tool like HP Tuners on there and log the data from the ECM to see what is going on. I'm assuming the AFR was taken at the tail pipe? That is not a great place to look at AFR.
The stock run is way too rich if you trust the data. The CAI is too lean. You should look at tuning properly for the CAI or switching to Rotofab. |

Btw, A/f ratio is under 14.7.. Isn't it not that lean?

It's too lean. I can also see there was knock retard just after 5500 RPMs. This is not an acceptable state of tune in my opinion. Put the stock intake back on until you are ready to address the CAI issues.

So the intake is making power?

Wrong conclusion with what has been presented. If the AFRs are to be believe there is something very wrong with the AFR on the first two runs. They aren't anywhere close to what they should be. If they were the power for the first two runs would improve dramatically. Then you have the CAI pushing the AFR to the extreme other end. So right now you can't conclude anything about the value of the CAI.
Was the CAI on the car before you did the first two runs? I suspect the LTrims were way positive. |

I don't think the data supports making any changes to your car - it looks like there is something is wrong with your wideband. There is no way a stock pull is running sub 10.0 AF ratios. I wouldn't change anything out unless you start throwing codes.

A lambda of .95 and KR isn't enough to support going back to the stock intake until you get some better data?

Did you get your AFR straightened out?
