I think for a $6,500 package, asking for unique wheels isn't that ridiculous.

Thing about GM is they are getting a little greedy with some of their options. An example would be that your Chevy is getting a Bowtie emblem regardless but if you "want" it in black instead of gold you are going to pay plenty extra for it. They have two boxes sitting on the floor, one with gold emblems and one with black emblems. The work to install the part is the same and the black one likely costs less to produce so why is the black one an extra $150 ??
$6500 for a set of production wheels on an American car is a bit pricey. Weigh the aluminum and see what the price per pound is. Lol |

Not as nice as the black, at least on that color car. Thanks though!

#2 for sure! The 1LE wheels just look more aggressive.

Unfortunately one man's taste in wheels is hardly ever universal, and each man (or woman) will have to figure out where their thresholds of budget and desire for upgraded wheels intersect. Lots of people that want those high end lightweight racing wheels on a track destined car think nothing of dropping 10k on a set. I say if you have the cash, then spend it how you like. Wonder what gains we'd see on a 1LE or ZL1 with CF wheels? You got 8-15K to find out? But to answer your question.... hrmmmm. I think Boze makes some neat wheels in the 900-1000k a wheel range that should be plenty solid and american made to boot. There are others of course. Forgelines are 1000+ a wheel, HRE 2000+... The field is too broad, and tastes are too individual. |
